Apple Sauce Pie Needs No Cooking
|* Worthy of your finest company dinner is this elegant apple sauce
cream pie that requires no cooking. The filling can be prepared in
three minutes.

pry-off cap from the iar of apple sauce to speed you on your way.
You’ll want to save the jar and unbent lid to store other foods that
need to be sealed airtight.
The crust is made ,of rich, crunchy graham cracker crumbs. If
your favorite recipe gives a baking time, just chill the crust for an
hour instead, and you’ll he delighted with the results, v

Apple Sauce Cream Pie
Filling: 1 9-inch graham cracker crust
2 egg whites, stiffly 1 package instant vanilla
beaten
1 tablespoon (1 envelope)
unflavored gelatine
}/i cup cold water
H cup boiling water
H cup milk
pudding mix
1 jar apple sauce (approximately
2 cups)
2 tablespoons grated
lemon rind
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Soften gelatine in cold water in a large bowl. Dissolve mixture
with the boiling water; then add milk. Add pudding mix and beat
slowly with an egg beater for one minute, or until mixture is smooth.
Fold in apple sauce, lemon rind and juice, and beaten egg whites.
Combine thoroughly. Turn mixture into chilled graham cracker crust.
Refrigerate until serving time, at least one hour. Just before serving, J
wreathe pie with unsweetened whipped cream. Makes six servings.
