Callahan of Columbia. MR. AND MRS. CARL RUSS ELL CAUGHMAN and their son Rusty, have returned to their home in Orangeburg after a visit of a week with Mrs. Caughman’s mother, Mrs. Robert W. Pugh. MR. HEYWARD SINGLEY and their daughter, of Columbia were Sunday guests of the J. D. Luthers. MISSES JEWEL CONNELLY and Joy Thomason will leave on Sunday to resume their studies at Columbia college. Carlton Sease from Commander to Naval Captain, now with the Supreme Headquarters allied powers in Europe. The Seaees are living in Paris. Captain, Sease is the son of Mrs. J^ A. Sease and the late Mr. Sease. * JIMMIE BEDENBAUGH will leave today (Thursday) to enter Wofford college. MRS. M. P. CONNELLY is in Atlanta, Georgia, with her daugh ter, Mrs. Frank Hill, Jr., and her infant son. O’Neal Methodist Church Is Scene of Wedding of Miss Lula Mae Goree Miss Lula Mae Goree of New berry became the bride of Arthur Knight Collier of Orangeburg and Columbia Saturday afternoon, the 6th of August in O’Neal Methodist church, Newberry. Rev. Lee RIp- pey, minister of education at Cen tral Methodist church, Shelby, N» C., officiated at the double ring ceremony, in the presence of a large gathering of relatives and friends. The church was decorated in traditional setting of green and white, of baskets of white glad ioli, palms, magnolia and tapers in candelabra. miss Patsy Kinard, organist and Mrs. Roy Creekmore, soloist fur- inished the wedding music. The usher - groomsmen were H. C. Collier of Orangeburg and M. D. Collier of Washington, D. C., brothers of the bridegroom; Jack Goree, of Newberry, brother o f the bride and Rufus Hallman, of Orangeburg. Miss Doris Goree, sister of the bride, was maid of honqr. She wore a dress waltz length of ice blue Chantilly lace and net with strapless bodice and attached stole. The full skirt with front apron effect had tiers of net ruf fles in the back. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink carna tions. The bridesmaids, Misses Sarah Ginn of Florence and Clara Sue McVey of Florence and Hattis- burg, Mississippi, wore dresses of pink lace and net made identical to that of the honor attendant. They carried cascade boquets of blue carnatiams. ’ The bride, given in marriage by her father, was lovely in her wed ding dress of hand clipped rose- point lace and nylon tulle over satin, designed with a decollete neckline appliqued with lace me dallions, fitted sleeves, basque waistline and tulle skirt with in- §ertion of lace. She wore a finger tip veil of Illusion attached to a Juliet cap of lace ornamented with pearls and sequins. She car ried a white Bible centered with a white orchid showered with feathered carnations. T. B. Collier of Orangeburg, brother of the bridegroom was best man. The bride’s mother wore a dress of dusty rose lace and orchid cor sage. A reception was held at the Willowbrook club house immed iately after the ceremony. Thq couple left during the even ing for a trip to the mountains. For traveling the bride changed to a two-piece suit of burnt al mond with matching accessories and thq orchid from her Bible. Mrs. Collier is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Osborne Sidney Go ree of Newberry. She received her education in the Newberry city schools and an A. B. degree from Neweerry college. She hae taught in the Florence school system since graduation and will teach in Hand Junior high school, Colom bia. during the coming session. Mr. Collier, son oT Che Ihte lWj and Mrs. Dargan Collier, ot Orangeburg, served in the Air Force four years. He attended Duke university and is now com pleting a BS degree in Business Administration at the University of South Carolina.
