Lamar Neville, student at the
Union Theological Seminary at
Richmond, Virginia, arrived here
'Tuesday night for a week’s visit
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.
W. A. Neville. He will leave next
week for York where he will as
sist the pastor of the York Pres
byterian church during the sum
mer months.
Miss Lucy McCaughrin left last
Tuesday for Spartanburg to visit
her niece, Mrs. Benjamin Pickens
and family. While there, she will
attend the graduation of her
great niece. Nan Brown, of An
derson, at Converse college.
Mrs. O. B. Cannon has returned
from an extended visit wdth Mr.
and Mrs. Cecil Reid in Fredericks
burg, Virginia.
James Dunston of Chicago, 111.
is spending a few weeks with his
mother, Mrs. J. O. Dunston.
Prof, and Mrs. Milton Moore
and sons. Bill and George, are
here for a visit with Mrs. Moore’s
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Beale Cro
mer. Prof, and Mrs. Moore will
return to New York and leave Bill
amd George for a visit with their
grandparents.

leave next week to spend the sum
mer at their hpme at the Isle of
Palms.

Rev. and Mrs. Peyton Wood
ruff and five-months-old twin
daughters, Hope and Faith, of
Owens’boro, Ky., arrived Monday
night for a few days’ visit with
Mrs. Woodruff’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs. B. L. Bishop on Main street
extension. Mrs. Woodruff is the
former Frances Bishop.
ATTEND GRADUATION
OF DAUGHTER SUNDAY
Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Fennell will
attend the gradination exercises at
Mars Hill College, N. C. on Sunday
and Monday, at which time their
daughter, Molly, will be a member
of the graduating class. The bacca
laureate sermon will be on Sunday
morning. In the afternoon* they
will attend a band concert. The
graduation exercipes will be Mon
day morning at 11:00 a. m.
The Fennells will return to their
home Monday afternoon, where
Molly will spend the summer
months before entering the Duke
School of Nursing in September.

ment Exercises will be a one-day
program on Sunday, June 5, be
ginning with the Baccalaureate
Service at 11 a. m. and concluding
with the graduation exercises at
3:30 p. m.
The Rev. Voigt R. Cromer, D.D.,
President of Lenoir Rhyne College,
Hickory, N. C., will deliver the
Baccalaureate Sermon at Redeem
er Lutheran Church in Newberry.

from Lenoir Rhyne; the M. A.
from the University of South
Carolina; the B. D. from the Luth
eran Theological Southern Semin
ary; and the S. T. M. from Hart- er *
ford Sepninary Foundation. He has
served as president of the United
Evangelical Lutheran Synod of
North Carolina and has held pas
torates in Summerville, and Lin-
colnton, Concord, and Hickory, N.
C. Dr. Cromer is a member of the
Board of Social Missions ot the
United Lutheran Church and
Chairman of the Department of
Inner Missions. He is a repreeen
tative of the United Lutheran
Church to the National Lutheran
Council. Dr. Cromer will address
the senior class on the theme “The
Road Ahead.”
At 12:30 p. m., the annual Alum
ni Luncheon will be served. This
luncheon, prepared by Mrs. Sam
Wallace, will 'be open to all alumni
and friends.
