Dawkins was admit ted to the Newberry County Mem orial hospital Tuesday morning, where she will be a patient for several days undergoing treatment tor arthritis! The condition of Mrs. W. E. Summer, who has been critically 111 in the local hospital for ' the past ten days is reported to be about the same. Students of the Citadel who will arrive in Newberry today (Thurs day) to spend the Christmas holi days are, Harrison and Gerald Summer, twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Summer; George Lips comb, son of Mrs. E. M. Lips comb; Clarence Hutto, son of Mrs. C. C. Hutto, and Leland Wil son, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Wilson. Mrs. R. L. Longshore of Clinton spent the weekend with her moth er, Mrs. J, T. Pitts on James St. and with her sister, Mrs. W. E. Summer, who is ill at the local hospital. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Moates have moved to 100 Caldwell street. Mrs. Eva Lou Waites is now STORE EMPLOYEES ENTERTAINED MONDAY An annual Christmas dinner par ty for employees of Carpenters, and other invited guests was given by Mrs. E. A. Carpenter at her home on Calhoun street Monday night, December 13 at 7 o’clock. Twenty-five employees and guests enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner, served buffet style. Christmas gifts were exchanged under the beau tifully decorated tree at the con clusion of the dinner. The Carpen ter home was festively decorated for the occasion with Christmas greens. The table from which the dinner was served was covered with a linen cloth which Mrs. Carpenter had used at an annual party elev en years ago, at which time those present autographed the cloth. The names were later embroidered on the cloth, and guests present at the Monday night party were ask ed to autograph the cloth so that their signatures also might be em broidered. making her home at 625 O’Neal street. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Suber have moved to 1218 Hunt street. Mr. and Mrs. Charles H.
