T HIS innovation of getting ad vertising in the mail addressed to “occupant” or “box holder” has brought me to wonder how so many people selling soup and nuts, lending money oifitefinattfe- ing the already over-financed in dividual can afford to do business with someone whose name isn’t even known to them. I’m inclined to wonder what would happen if I filled out one of those attached order forms and signed it “Occupant, 106 Elk- horn Drive.” Maybe I shouldn’t complain. I can remember the time when I would have welcomed any type of correspondence. If it came through the mails and even faint ly resembled a letter, it was a good time-killer, to be read, re read, put aside and then sead again. ’ Therefore, I’d yke to suggest that some of the folks who do this type of advertising, or selling by mail, address some of their correspondence to: “Members of our Armed Forces, wherever you may be.” Just think what fun all the boys up at Thule would have whiling away the hours pouring over lit erature promoting the merits of a perpetual motion, motor-less air conditioner or a guaranteed, han dy, pocket-size ice cube maker. I wish those cold-weather boys could get some of the mail I re ceive these days.
