Has Prayer Meet
The W.M.S. of Chappells Bap
tist Church met Wednesday after
noon with Mrs. I. T. Watkins. A
very interesting program on “The
Gift of God’s Love” was presented
by the following: Mrs. J. M. Keith,
Miss Lillie Mae Workman, Miss
Elizabeth Keith, Mrs. Jule Smith,
Mrs. J. B. Scurry, Mrs. Ll E.
Werts and Mrs. Guy Dominick.
The hostess assisted by Misses
Mary and Buddy Watkins and
Sandra Adams served a delicious
salad plate and hot punch.
Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs.
W. M. Salter were Mrs. Minnie
Leitzsey, William and Wilson
Leitzsey, and Mr. Minton Johnson.
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Carlson
and Eric of Johnstone were week
end guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. E.

Billy Scurry attended the
Shrine Bowl game in Charlotte,
N. C. Saturday.
Mrs. A. L. Nicolson is visiting
her daughter, Mrs. L. E. Werts.

the Newberry County Memorial
Hospital.
The W.M.S. of Chappells Bap-
ist Church held a special service
at the church on Monday evening,
Dec. 7 observing the Week of
Prayer for foreign Missions. A
very interesting program was pre
sented by Mrs. Irene Keith, Miss
Elizabeth Keith, Mrs. Guy Dom
inick, Mrs. I. T. Watkins, and Miss
Lillie Mae Workman.

spent the weekend in Columbia.

SCOUT TROOP MEET WITH
LEADER, MISS PARIS
Girl Scout Troop No. 7, met on
Tuesday afternoon, December 1st
at 3 o’clock at the home of the
leader, Miss Patricia Faris on
Wheeler street.
The girls first discussed plans
for the Christmas Party which the
troop will give on Tuesday, De
cember 22nd at the Scout Cabin
on Pope Terrace.
They also discussed making
Christmas gifts for their family.,
