The bolstered seat design, long acclaimed by furniture decorators, now finds a new place in De Soto interiors. The backs of the seats are unique in that they feature pleats, terminating at the bolster with large, round tufting buttons covered with bolster material. Matching door panels harmonize with brilliant solid-color enameled mouldings and the new instrument panel, giving the 1954 De Soto a luxurious appearance. P. Moon and Mrs. Pinck ney Abrams were hostesses at a coffee drop-in at the home of Mrs. Moon on Calhoun street in honor of Miss Elizabeth Blease (Betty) Baker, and Miss Juliette LaBorde of Columbia, both of whom will be married later in the month. A number of guests enjoyed the affair which was held Saturday morning, October 31, at 10:00 o' clock. The Moon home was decorated with bronze chrysanthemums and other fall flowers. Centering the dining room table was a beautiful arrangement of tuberoses and white chrysanthemums. Guests were greeted by Mrs. D. W. A. Neville and invited into the living room by Mrs. E. E. Epting and Mrs. Von Lon^. The honor guests and the host esses composed the receiving line. Betty was attractively attired in a wool beige dress, trimmed in brown, with a matching hat. Juli ette wore a pastel wool dress with matching hat and accessories. Mrs. Ouida Turner entertained in the dining room, where coffee was poured by Mrs. E. E. Epting and Mrs. Cannon Blease. Out of town guests enjoying the occasion were Mrs. Carroll La- borde, Juliette’s mother, and the mother of her fiance, Mrs. Spigner, both of Columbia. Betty will be married to Syd Carter of Georgetown on Novem ber 21st at Central Methodist Church. Juliette’s marriage to Mc- Nary Spigner of Columbia will take place at Trinity Church on No vember 14th. Buffet Luncheon Belfcy and sixteen of her friends were guests of Mrs. John Clark son and Mrs. O. M. Cobb at a buf- fett luncheon given Saturday at the Clarkson home on Harrington street. The luncheon table was covered with a lovely cut-work cloth and centered with an arrangement of pjnk flowers in a silver bowl. Var ious shades of pink flowers were used elsewhere about the dining room. Silver dishes were placed on the table for the guests. The luncheon was enjoyed in the living room and on the sun porch, where small tables were placed. Centering each of the tables was a chrysanthemum nosegay ar rangement surrounded with miline. The living room was decorated with yellow chrysanthemums and on the sun porch, yellow dahlias were used. The honoree was presented a lovely gift by the hostesses. Kitchen Shower Mrs. R. W. Kirkland and Mrs. Douglas Hornsby were hostesses at a drop-in and kitchen shower in Betty's honor. The party was at the home of Mrs. Kirkland on Johnstone street. A bridal green and white motif was used in deco rations throughout the house. The dining room table' was covered with an Italian cutwork tablecloth and centered with a 'beautiful ar rangement of white daisies and chrysanthemums. White candles in candelabra glowed on the buffet. Mrs. Roy Summer, Sr. poured coffee from a silver service. Assisting in entertaining were Mrs. May Stuck of Greenville, Mrs. W. R. Reid, and Mrs. Bill (Catherine Kirkland) Crockett of Pawling, N. J. The hostesses presented Betty a cook book as a remembrance. Twenty-two guests enjoyed tlie party. Fellers Purchases Cow From Hawkins Edgar R. Fellers of Newberry has purchased the young Guern sey sire, Myrtledale's Bonnie Prince, from J. F. Hawkins also of Newberry. This richly bred young bull is out of the well-bred cow, Clear Springs’ Princess Bonnie, that has two production records of 8,290 pounds of milk and 419 pounds of butterfat, made as a junior four year-old and 9,223 pounds of milk and 451 pounds of butterfat, made as a five year-old.
