HOWARD FEL LERS and daughter, Dianne, who are visiting here, in the home of Mr. Fellers’ mother, Mrs. Cecil Fellers, spent the weekend in Charleston with friends. MR. AND MRS. THOMPSON PITTS and three children. Colie, Sherill Ann and Jerry, of Douglas, Ga., are spending this week in the home of Mr. Pitt’s mother, Mrs. J. T. Pitts and other relatives on James street. MRS. ROLAND FELKER re turned to her position qft The Fashion Monday morning of this week after being absent for the past month due to illness. MR. ArfD MRS. JAMES D. SENN and two children, Susan and Debbie of Seneca, were Sun day visitors in the home of Mr. Senn’s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tyrus Senn in the Smyrna community. J. O. HAVIRD is visiting his ron-in-Iaw and daughter, M/Sgt. Herman Carter and family in Jacksonville, Florida. MISS BRANTLEY PELHAM of Columbia and Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Pelham, Jr., of Duncan were week end visitors in the home of their mother, Mrs. W. E. Pelham on 1 Harrington street. Charlotte and Ellerbe, who had been on a few days visit with their grandmother, returned to their home in Duncan with their parents Sunday after noon. MR. AND MRS. JAMES C. ABRAMS and daughter, Ann, are spending ten days vacation in Philidephia, Pa., with Mrs. Abrams’ brother and sister-in law, Mr. and Mrs. George Pettit. MRS. J. H. RUFF and Mrs. Charlie Ruff left Sunday for a week’s visit in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rex North, Jr., in Nat chez, Miss. Rex North, III and Steve, who had been spending the summer months here with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Ruff, returned to their home in Natchez, with the Mrs. Ruffs. MISS MARY WHEELER of Greenwood, spent the past week end in the home of her brother-in- law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. P. Metts Fant on Glenn street. MR. AND MRS. JAMES SMITH and two children, Martha Jean and Monty, and Foster Smith spent last week in Charleston in the home of Foster Smith’s son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Charles Smith. MRS. LINDA EPPS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Epps of Augusta, Ga., is spending this week in the home of her cousin, Johnny Epps, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Epps on Hunt street. MR. AND MRS. GRADY GOG- GANS of Aiken spent Friday and Saturday in Columbia, with Mr. Goggans’ brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Sikes. They came to Newberry and spent Sun day in the home of Mr. Goggan’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Gog gans in the Hartford community. MR. AND MRS. C. L. LESTER spent last weekend in North Caro lina with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Emmitt Goodrich. Their grandson “Bud,” who spent the summer months here with his grandparents, re turned to h'ls home with them last weekend. WEEKEND VISITORS in the home of Mrs. Mamye Fellers on College street were her children and grandchildren, Lieut, and Mrs. H. E. Fellers, Jacksonville, frla., Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Fellers and two children, Berkely and Mark, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Robelot of Charlotte, N. C., Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fellers, Columbia and M/Sgt. and Mrs. Henry Fellers and daughter, Rachel, of Fort Benning, Ga. MR. AND MRS. KEITH ROB ERTS and children of Whitmire, were Sunday visitors in the home of Mrs. Robert’s mother, Mrs. R. G. Carroll on Keroes Avenue. MRS. BENNIE BURNS, Mrs. M. L. Kenmore of Ninety Six and Mrs. C. L. Pless of Cleveland, Ga., re turned to their homes last Wed nesday, after spending a week in Colliverville, Tenn., with their brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Stark. Mrs. Stark, who has been ill for the past ten days, was reported to be improving nicely. JOHNNY EPPS, Freddie Pitts, Richard Ivester and Jimmy Crooks returned to their home last Sat urday, after spending a week at Camp Adventure at Lake Juna- luska, N. C. These boys are members of the Youth Fellowship at Central Methodist Church. MR. AND MRS. H. O. LONG spent last week at Clemson Col lege where they attended Farm and Home Week. MRS. CHARLES E. RAGLAND and three children, Charles, Har ry and Kathryn, of Columbia are spending a few days this week in the home of Mrs. Ragland’s moth er, Mrs. J. H. Summer on E. Main street. MR. AND MRS. E. E. EPTING and son. Gene, attended the Luth er League Convention, which was held in Charleston, Monday through Wednesday of this week. GENE EPTING, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Epting, who has been confined to his home on’Douglas street for the past three weeks suffering with mumps, is out again and getting along fine. • MR. AND MRS. C., was a visitor in the home of her sister, Mrs. Preston McAlhaney and Mr. McAlhaney on Boundary street last week. PROF. T. E. “DUDE” EPT ING, Mrs. C. H. Cannon and Mrs. Claude Sanders spent their va cation last week at Myrtle Beach. MRS. T. P. JOHNSON and daughter, Miss Tommie Johnson are spending this week at Myrtle Beach. MISS BETTY JO COUNTS will leave Sunday for Savannah, Ga., to resume her school work as a member of the Savannah City School faculty. Miss Counts has taught in Savannah for the past three years. MRS. MARY ALICE WIGGINS of Orlando, Florida spent several days this week in the home of her grandson, Marion Wiggins and Mrs. Wiggins at 923 Jessica Ave. While in the city Mrs. Wiggins will also visit other relatives. MR. AND MRS. GEORGE MC GRATH and two children, Jane and George, Jr., of Conway spent the past weekend as guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Summer, at the R. B. Bakers summer home “Tanglewood” on Lake Murray. DR. P. L. GRIER and daughter, Emily, are taking a three week’s vacation. They spent last week at Ghivens Ferry, State Park. Dr. Grier is spending this week at Bon darken, N. C., he will return to Newberry and fill the pulpit at the local ARP Church and Cannon Creek Church on Sunday, Septem ber 6th. MR. AND MRS. W. G. HENRY have moved to 1328 Summer St., where they are now making their home. MRS. C. K. BROWN and son, Ken, returned to their home in Charleston Wednesday, after spending several days here with relatives. Luvenia Brown, who had been on a week’s visit in the home of Mr. annd Mrs. T. Roy Anderson, returned to Charleston with her mother. MR. AND MRS. GEORGE W. MARTIN and family, moved a couple of weeks ago into the Dr. R. L. Hunter home, 1919 McHardy street, which they purchased some time ago. The Martins formerly resided on Nance street. H. D. Olin Odell Reighley, 59, died at 7:15 a.m. on August 10 at his home on Meridian pike, at Hunts ville, Ala., following a heart at tack earlier in the morning. • His survivors include the widow, Mrs. Amelia H. Reighley; on daughter, Mrs. Norma Reigh ley Blair; two sisters, Mrs. Alpheus Bouknight of Newberry and Mrs. Julia Clamp, of Colum bia. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
