C. The Tribe’s holding power was displayed when, after a fumbled punt was recovered on Newberry’s four-yard line, the Indians held the Catawba eleven through fodr downs, forcing them to lose ground rather than make what seemed an inevitable touchdown. This was in the earlier part of the game and was the most spec tacular example of the Indian’s holding ability, although it was displayed throughout the game un til the last ft w minutes. While Catawba played an al most completely different of fensive and defensive team, sub stitutions on the Newberr? side were infrequent, and the same Indians were used during most of the 60 minutes of play. It was obvious that they were beginning to tire in the fourth quarter and when Newberry fumbled the ball again on its own three-yard line, the Indians were unable to keep Catawba from going over. Short ly after that, the Tribe from Ca tawba scored again and the game ended 13-7. Witji a screamingly funny initial sequence starring the rapid pace, the picture continues its high- gear progress to an uproarious ending, with a wealth of comedy sandwiched in between to make the offering a happy experience. Hope enacts the role of a zany foreign corespondent for a big New York news syndicate, Miss Lamour that of his girl-friend and head of the syndicate's Washing ton office. Discharged for missing a big story, Hope goes to Washington for romance and consolation. There he stumbles onto another big story, and goes after it in an effort to redeem himself and get his job back. Troubles ensue as soon as he begins and the hero’s desperate attempts to straighten every thing out, make for the side-split ting conclusion to the film, which gives Hope one of his funniest roles and Miss Lamour a dramatic part in which she does not wear a sarong.
