Young entertained with a desert bridge party Monday after noon, June 23, at the home of Mrs. Wise, announcing the en gagement of their sister, Miss Nellie Wise of Prosperity and Jacksonville, Fla. and Mr. Charles Tyler of Jacksonville, Fla. The wedding will take place July 21. Arrangements of mixed sum mer flowers were used in the rooms where seven tables were placed for the games. The table appointments carried out the bridal motif. Long, honor prize. The guest of honor was given a piece of china in her selected pattern. Out of town guests were Mrs. J. R. Powell of Swainsboro, Ga.; Mrs. Kenneth Johnson of Miami, Fla.; and Mrs. George S. Wise of Columbia. On Tuesday afternoon Miss Grace Sease entertained her bridge club and added an extra table, complimenting Miss Nellie Wise, July bride-elect. Mrs. Her man Richardson of Columbia was an out-of-town guest. Miss Effie Hawkins won the high score prize in the club and Mrs. P. E. Wise for the guests. Miss Wise was presented a piece of china. Miss Wise was again compli mented when Mrs. Hunter Fel lers and Mrs. Von A. Long en tertained at bridge, Friday after noon, at the home of Mrs. Fellers. Mrs. Clyde Bedenbaugh of Manning and Mrs. George Wise of Colum bia were out-of-town guests. Upon arrival the guests were served a sweet course with an iced drink. Later in the after noon, icej lemonade was served. The bride elect place was marked with a corsage. After several progressions prizes Were awarded to Mrs. W. H. Leaphart, Sr. for high-scorer; Mrs. L. J. Fellers, second high; Miss Ethel Counts, low score; Mrs. George W. Harmon and Mrs. P. W. Smith, floating prizes. Miss Wise was presented a piece of china. The favors were white thimble pin cushions. Mrs. J. L. Counts, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Foster and Miss Annie Hunter spent Sunday in King's Mountain, N. C. and attended the Foster family reunion. Mrs. Thompsie Summers left last Tuesday for Alexandria, La. to visit her son, Boyd Summers and family. Mrs. Edward W. Counts and her two sons, Buddy and Steve, spent the weekend in Batesburg. Miss Grace Sease left Wednes day to attend a Psychology Workshop at Teachers College, Columbia University, from July 7-26.' The workshop is to be conducted by Dr. Jersild. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Alexander and their little son, Robin, of Washington, D. C. arrived Satur day to spend their vacation with Mrs. Alexander’s mother, Mrs. H. E. Counts, Sr. Miss Lottie Stoudemire of Chapin is spending a week with her aunt, Mrs. J. A. Sease. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Wheeler attended a Case convention in Atlanta over the weekend. Mrs. Hugh Taylor of Columbia spent Sunday with Mrs. P. C. Singley. Mr. and Mrs. David Lee and their two children, David, Jr. and Anita Jeannine of Greenville are spending the week with Mrs. Lee’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ballentine. Mr. and Mrs. C. Mower Singley are at Ocean Drive for the week. With Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Fellers for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. M. C. Hooker of Charles ton and Mr. Hudson of Baltimore, Md. Mrs. John Stockman "has re turned from a visit with Mrs. Mary Epting and other relatives PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Houseal Auton and children, and Harmon Hipp, left Friday for New York City and other places of interest on a vacation trip. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hayes, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lominack, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Tedford, Mr. and Mrs. C. D. (Pete) Coleman and Mr. and Mrs. William Buford, spent the past weekend at Ocean Drive at the Haye’s cottage. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Matthews of Columbia, visited in the home of Dr. and Mrs, J. B. Harman on Nance street, last Sunday. Mrs. W. R. Reid, Sr., Miss Josie Reid, Mrs. George (MUdred Reid) Wright and Miss Helen Reid Hardaker of Tallahassee, Fla. are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Sloan Chapman. J. T. McCrackin spent Tuesday in Atlanta on business. He made the trip by plane from Columbia. Mr. and Mrs. Gates Beckwith and small son, Tom, returned to thejr homp in Stanford, Conn., Sunday afternoon, after a visit in the home of Mrs. Beckwith’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. E.
