//MWmerica leads the world
The United States produces 44 per cent of the
world’s lumber, 58 per cent of its plywood and 43
per cent of its wood pulp. Blessed with soil and
climate ideal for trees, this nation has the scientific
and technical know-how, plus the industrial initia
tive, to hold that lead today while it grows the
forests needed to maintain leadership tomorrow.
