ham, served as his brother’s
best man, and acting as grooms
man was Thomas Kirkland,
the bride’s brother. Ushers
included Randolph Kirkland,
Jr., of Baltimore; Lane Kirk
land, of Washington; J. Dane
Caldwell, of Newberry, and W.
Fitzgerald Rutherford, of New
berry.
Miss Katherine Kirkland
served as maid of honor, and
Mrs. James K. Roberts, of At
lanta, was matron of honor.

nieces of the bride.
The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore an ivory
satin gown made with a net
yoke lined with seed pearls.
Her heirloom lace veil, loaned
by Mrs. James H. Reeves, Jr.,
was made in a convent in
China. She wore a single
strand of pearls and carried a
bouquet of bride’s roses, baby’s
breath and tuberoses.
Following the ceremony, the
bride’s parents entertained at
a reception at their home, after
which the couple left for a
wedding trip to the mountains.
Upon their return they will
reside in Birmingham.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy DeHines
and daughter, Doris, of Rock
Hill, were weekend visitors in
the home of Mr. DeHines’ sis
ter, Mrs. Epsie Buzhardt on
Boundary street.
John B. Scurry of Chappells
was a visitor in Newberry
