MRS HASSELL MILLER DIES
AT WHITMIRE
From Whitmire Newi, July 29.
Mrs. William Hassell Miller
Sr., died last Thursday morning
at oAe o’clock at her home on
Main street. She had been ill
for more than a year and criti-
ically so for several months be
fore her death.
Mrs. Miller was bom Septem
ber 9, 1904 in Clinton as Eula
Grace Bobo a daughter of Mrs.
Rebecca Bailey and the late
David B. Bobo, well known and
widely connected citizens of
Clinton. She was educated in
the schools of Clinton and was
attending Coker college at the
time of her marriage to Mr.
Miller on January 1, 1923.
She is survived by her hus
band, two sons, William Hassell,
Jr. and David Bobo Miller; one
grandson, W. H. Ill, her mother;
one brother, the Rev. George
Bobo of Florence; two sisters,
Mrs. J. H. Simpson of Whitmire
and Mrs. Eugene Richburg, of
Lincolnton, N. C. and a number
of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held in
her late home and were con
ducted by her pastor, the Rev.
Connolly Gamble, Jr. and a
former pastor, the Rev. H. G.
Wardlaw of Conway. Burial
was in the Whitmire cemetery.
Many friends attended the
services and the flowers were
many and beautifuL

conducted at The Citadel,
Charleston, shortly before the
close of the 1948-49 academic
session.
Physical efficiency tests in
clude puH-ups, squat jumps,
push-ups, sit-ups from a lying
position, and a 300 yard run
in lanes with stakes 150 yards
apart.
