MRS. NANCY C. STONE
Mrs. Nancy Katherine (Kate)
Cromer Stone, 77, died early
Thursday afternoon at her
home in the St. Phillips section
of Newberry County after de
clining health of several years.
She was up and about her
usual duties when she suffer
ed a heart attack.
The widow of the late W. F.
Stone, she was a member of
St. Phillip® Lutheran Church
where she was loved and re
spected by both young and old.
She was the daughter of the
late Ivy and Nancy Katherine
Adams Cromer.
Funeral services were held
Friday afternoon at 5 o’clock
from St. Phillips Lutheran
Church with her pastor, the
Rev. C. H. Stucke, conducting
the service. Interment follow
ed in the church cemetery.
She is survived by the fol
lowing children: J. Paul, Clar
ence L, W. Oscar, George E.,
Jessie C. and J. Coley Stone.
Mrs. Helen Sease, Mrs. Lucy
Ruff and Mrs. Ernest Wicker,
all of Newberry; one half-bro
ther, John T. Cromer of New
berry; 13 grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren and a num
ber of nieces and nephews.

The Aveleigh Presbyterian
Daily Vacation Bible school
which has been in progress for
the past two weeks will hold
its commencement exercises
this morning (Friday) at 10:30,
after which refreshments will
be served.
Queens and Helena, Ave-
leigh’s out-post churches are
also bringing their schools to
a close this weekend.
Rev. N. E. Truesdale, pastor
of Aveleigh, said that the three
schools had an enrollment of
125, pupdls, which was very
good. He also stated that he
would like to thank all that
took part in the schools which
made them a huge success.
