Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dominick and Mr. and Mrs. Wyman Dominick will move into the Elmer Shealy house. Miss Linda Hancock has gone to Rockville, Maryland to spend the summer with rela tives. Misses Gay Bowers and Dru- cie Connelly attended the Methodist Youth Assembly at Columbia college last week. Mr. and Mrs. Webster Domi nick of Philadelphia, Pa. spent last week with Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Dominick. Visiting the Dom inicks on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Horace Dominick, of Greenville. Mr. and/ M!rs. Oscar Wessin- ger had with them Sunday their children and families. Tfce group included Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Abrams of Beaufort. Mrs. Ralph Thomsen of St. Louis, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Pinson of Cross Hill, and Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Os wald and two children of Co lumbia. Mb*, and Mrs. Alvin Kibler and their small son spent the weekend in Lenoir, N. C. Mrs. Pendleton of Lenoir, who had been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Sid ney Cook, returned home. Miss Patricia Luther is in New York City for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Derrick and their three daughters of Columbia spent Sunday with Mr. Derrick’s mother, Mrs. M. D. Derrick, Sr. Mrs. Derrick also had Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Derrick of West Columbia with her Thursday. Quay Fellers, who is attend ing Clemson College summer school, spent the weekend at home. He had with him his cousin, W'alter Simmons, of New York City, who is also a summer school student. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Mills had with them part of last week Mr. and Mrs. Willard Camp and daughter of Clemson and Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Camp bell of Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Cook and Clyde Adams were on a fishing trip to the Santee Coop er last week. Mrs. Jacob S. Wlheeler has been on a visit to her mother, Mrs. Minnie Curlee, in Winns- boro. P. W. Smith joined his fa ther, M. B. Smith of Washing ton, D. C., on a business trip to Georgia last week. Weekend guests of Mrs. John Stockman were Mrs. Viola Richardson and Miss Eunice Adams of Newberry. Lt. Col. and Mrs. Charles Whittle of Camp Campbell, Kentucky, are visiting Mrs. Whittle’s mother, Mrs. S. A. Quattlebaum. Mrs. Rosine S. Carnes of Jacksonville, Florida, spent a few days last week with her sister, Mrs. J. D. Luther, be fore entering summer school at the University of South Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Brissie and their two sons, Robert and George, of Wbodruff, visited Mrs. Brissie’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Mills, last week. Mrs. Frank Bradley of Alher- querque, Mexico, arrived Wed nesday by plane for a month’s visit with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. George W. Harmon. Ma- Bradley for the last two weeks of her visit. jor Bradley will join Mrs. Mrs. M. Pettus Connelly of Panama City, Florida, visited relatives here last week. Mr. Connelly, who had been in the Columbia Hospital for an eye operation returned to Panama City with Mrs. Connelly. Mr. and Mrs. James Hunt and their two daughters, Jenet and Joan, of Spartanburg, were weekend guests of Mrs. A. B. Hunt. Frank Blackwell, Jr., of Mar ion visited his aunt and uncle, Miss Effie Hawkins and J. N. Hawkins last week. He left Sunday for summer school at the Citadel. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Shealy have returned from a visit with relatives in Roanoke, Va. Col. and Mrs. George S. Wise and son Spence of Washington, D. C„ are visiting Col. Wise’s sisters, M!rs. J. Frank Browne and Mrs. L. W. Harmon. The Wises will be in South Caro lina for a month and will visit other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Mer chant have returned from a visit to their daughters, Mrs. W. T. Givens and family in Sumter. . Mrs. Lindsey J. Fellers is spending this week with her sister, Mrs. Marjorie Rawls in Greenville. Miss Phyllis Anne WUse of Jacksonville, Fla., is visiting her uncle and aunt, Mr. and M!rs. B. T. Young. The children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Noah Black and their families had a family get-to gether Sunday at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Wolf in Orange burg. Mrs. Wolf is the daugh ter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Black of Bowman. Going from Prosperity were Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Black, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Black and their two sons Mr. and Mrs. Jake Singley, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Dunlap, of Greenville, who were spending the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Singley, Mr. and Mrs. Sheely Setzler and their little daughter, Gayle; Mr. and Mrs. Javis Black, Mr. and Mrs. James Black and their little daughter, Mrs. O. B. Shearouse, Miss Eleanor Shearouse, Mrs. J. T. Martin and son of Lau rens. Mrs. W. W. Kinard of New berry visited her son, T. J. Kinard and family Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Sale and two children, Frederick and Bobbie, returned to their home in Winston-Salem, N. C., Mon day after spending from Fri day until Monday in the home of Mr. Sale’s mother, Mrs. G. G. Sale on Nance street. MRS. NANCY C. STONE Mrs. Nancy Katherine (Kate) Cromer Stone, 77, died early Thursday afternoon at her home in the St. Phillips section of Newberry County after de clining health of several years. She was up and about her usual duties when she suffer ed a heart attack. The widow of the late W. F. Stone, she was a member of St. Phillip® Lutheran Church where she was loved and re spected by both young and old. She was the daughter of the late Ivy and Nancy Katherine Adams Cromer. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 5 o’clock from St. Phillips Lutheran Church with her pastor, the Rev. C. H. Stucke, conducting the service. Interment follow ed in the church cemetery. She is survived by the fol lowing children: J. Paul, Clar ence L, W. Oscar, George E., Jessie C. and J. Coley Stone. Mrs. Helen Sease, Mrs. Lucy Ruff and Mrs. Ernest Wicker, all of Newberry; one half-bro ther, John T. Cromer of New berry; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a num ber of nieces and nephews. Queens and Helena, Ave- leigh’s out-post churches are also bringing their schools to a close this weekend. Rev. N. E. Truesdale, pastor of Aveleigh, said that the three schools had an enrollment of 125, pupdls, which was very good.
