A MAN, visiting a house for th>
first time, found that his hos
was the proud father of three wilt
chijdren. The utter made so muc
noise that the visitor found it diffi
cult to hear a word that was said
One child was busy ripping the up
nolstery out of a brand-new divan
A second lad was driving nails in
to an expensive table, and the thin
was swinging gaily from a chandel
ier.
The bewildered guest eyed thi
youngster who was driving nails in
to the furniture. He turned to hi.*

“I say,” he said, pointing to thi
boy with the hammer, don’t yoi
find it rather expensive to let youi
children play like that?”
The host smiled proudly.
‘Not at all,” be replied cheerfully
“I get the nails wholesale!”

“The most amazing thing happened
to me at the trees. It was the elev

boy was eleven that day. We lived
in a house numbered eleven, and I
arrived on the course at eleven
