daughter and spent the day
with Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ball
entine.
Mrs. Arthur Lee Vaughn of
Newberry spent the weekend
with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
Vaughn.
Q—Why should the farmers support J. Press Fellers to
represent them in the House of Representatives?
A.—Because he is a successful farmer himself, being born
and reared on a farm in Newberry County. He advo
cates the county doing some permanent road work
, by surface treating the county farm to market roads
because the State Highway Department will never be
able to surface treat all the roads. i

Q.—Why should the Textile workers support J. Press
Fellers to represent them?
A.—Because the House Journal of 1937 will show that
during his services in the House from Anderson
County he helped sponsor and voted for the first
forty hour week law ever to be enacted in South Caro
lina. Because he favors amending the social security
qct by reducing from sixty five to sixty years the
minimum age for receiving old-age insurance benefits.
Q.—Why should the aged men and women and dependent
widows and children support J. Press Fellers to rep
resent them ?
A.—Because he thinks they should be more
provided for.

Q.—Why should business people support J. Press Fellers
to represent them?
A.—Because in addition to his being a farmer he has had
experience as a lumberman, a merchant, road com
missioner, and previous service in the House of Rep
resentatives. They Should also support him because
he is not seeking the office for personal finiancial
reasons but wants good business administration for
Newberry County.
Q.—Why will you not be influenced by eleventh hour
false reports to vote against J. Press Fellers?
A.—Because he is an honest, upright man, and realizes
that the instigator of such reports is not a worthy
citizen to exert influence upon a voter of Newberry
County.

N. Mex., to visit their son-in'

Mrs. Frank Bradley, and at
Shreveport, La., to visit their
son. Wallace Harmon and fam
ily. Mrs. Harmon, her small
daughter, Patricia, and her mo
ther. Mrs. Peacock, accompanied
the Harmons home for a visit
in Prosperity.
Mrs. C. T. Wyche has re
turned home after visiting her
children in Havertown, Pa.,
Greenville, atid Columbia. Her
daughter, Mrs. Jas. F. Gog-
gans of Columbia, is with her
for several days.
Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Hawkins
and their son. W. P., Jr., of
Millen. Texas, have been visit
ing his sister Mrs. C. F. Adams
and family. With the Adams
for the weekend were their
son-in-law and daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Homer Taylor and
three children of Saluda.
The Rev. and Mrs. J. Snell
and their son David of Wrens,
Ga.. visited the J. D. Luthers
and family Tuesday. Rev. Snell
was a former pastor of the
Prosperity A.R.P. church.
Mrs. Rosine S. Carnes, who
has 'been attending summer
school at the University of S.
C.. is visiting her sister, Mbs.
J. D. Luther, and family.
The Rev. and Mrs. J. E. Mc-
Ferrin and their daughter. Miss
Sarah Mae McFerrin, have re
turned from a two week’s va
cation, visiting in North Caroli
na, Tennessee, and Arkansas.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reagin
of Greenwood visited relatives
in Prosperity Sunday. Gurdon
Wright Counts went home with
them to spend the week.
