In a lovely candlelight cere
mony Miss Anna Margaret
Lominick became the bride of
Harry Morgan Bsurtar, Jr., at 8
p. m., on June 10 at the Po-
maria Lutheran Church. The
bride’s pastor, the Rev. George
E. Meetze, of the Lutheran
Churcah of the Incarnation, Co
lumbia, officiated, using the
double ring ceremony.
The church was effectively
decorated for the occasion.
Miss Betty Lundy, pianist of
Denmark, Miss Patsy Lominick,
soprano and sister of the bride,
and Harold Derrick, baritone,
of Columlbia, furnished the
wedding music. Traditional wed
ding marches were used.
Buzzie Hentz and Alvin Hen-
tz, cousins of the bride lighted
the candles.
Usher-groomsmen were Pal
mer McArthur of Bennetsville,
Marius (Doc) Wells of Holly
Hill, Dave Britton of Sumter
and Billy Hatton, Jr., of Po-
maria and Columbia.
Paschal Baxter of George
town was his brother’s best
man.
The maid of honor was Miss
Patsy Lominick, sister of the
bride, of Pomaria, Her dress
wais of nile green nylon mar
quisette over taffeta made made
with a gathered ruffle forming
an off-sihoulder effect, fitted
bodice ending in a point, and a
bouffant skirt with a wide frill
around the front that met in
the back to give a bustle effect.
She wore lace mitts to match
her dress and a bandeau of
yellow roses and shattered
carnations. Her bouquet was
a cut-out heart outlined with
net filled with yellow roses dnd
carnations and tied with wide
yellow satin ribbons.
Miss Mary Kate Bell of Mar
ion, Willette Padget of Saluda,
Juanita Feagle of Little Moun
tain, and Mary Lou Ballentine
of Newberry were bridesmaids.
Their identical dresses of nile
green marquisette were fash-
iond like that of the maid of
honor. They wore lace mitts to
match their dresses and net
shoulder tip veils, gathered and
caught with shattered carna
tions. Their flowers were cut
out hearts filled with vellow
carnations and matching rib
bons.
The flower girls, little Mar
garet Hewey, cousin of the
bride, of Spartanburg and
Evangeline Lide of Newberry,
wore nile green dresses iden
tical to those of the maid of
honor and bridesmaids and
bandeaux similar to that of
the maid of honor. They carr
ied dainty white baskets, tied
with yellow satin ribbon, filled
with rose petals which they
scattered in the path of the
bride.
Don Kunkle, cousin of the
bride, was ringbearer, He wore
a white linen suit and carried
the ring in a lily on a white
satin pillow.
The lovely bride, who was
given in marriage by her
father, H. W. Lominick, was
exquisite in her wedding dress
of white dutchess satin. A yoke
of bridal illusion outlined with
a satin bertha formed an off-
shoulder effect. The fitted bo
dice extended below the hip
line with a narrow, circular
peplum of satin forming a bus
tle from which fell in grace
ful folds the very full floor-
length shirt ending in a court
train. In the back extending
from the neckline to the waist,
was a single row of dainty sat
in-covered buttons, Long tight
sleeves ending in calla points
over the wrists. Her shoulder
length veil of imported silk
bridal illusion edged in Chan
tilly lace was pleated at the top
to form a coronet which was
held in place with clusters of
orange blossoms at the sides
over a full length veil of illus
ion net. She carried a showered
bouquet of white satin ribbon,
lilies-of-the-valley and tube
roses, centered with white pur
ple-throated orchids. White sa
tin slippers completed her bri
dal attire. The bride’s orna
ments consisted of a n imported
necklace and ring of smoked to
paz, gifts of the groom.
Immediately after the cere
mony, the bride’s parents en
tertained at a reception at their
home.
During the evening the bride
and bride groom left for their
wedding trip.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert W. Lomi-
nidk of Pomaria. She was grad
uated from Wintii-op College in
1946. While at Winthrop she
was prominent in student af
fairs, having been president of
the senior class and the South
eastern region of the Lutheran
Student Association; secretary
of Student Government associa
tion her junior year, and a
member of Senior Order, Mas
quers, Kappa Delta Pi and Win
throp Music Club. She was
also listed in ||Wh’o Who In
American Colleges and Univer
sities”. Since her graduation the
bride has been associated with
the Lutheran Church of the In
carnation in Columbia, where
she is secretary and assistant
to the pastor.
The bridegroom in the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Baxter
of Georgetown. After three and
a half years in the United
States Naval Air Corps, he
entered Wofford College, where
he was a member of Kappa
Sigma fraternity, and last sum
mer transitered to the Univer
sity of South Carolina. At the
University he is a member of
Kappa Sigma fraternity and the
German and Cotillion clubs.
