The Newberry Employment Office has placed 87 physically handicapped workers on jobs since the first of the
year.
There are at present 46 physically handicapped persons from Newberry County registered at the Employment
Office. Twenty-nine of these registrants are veterans.
Placement services are rendered to both veterans and non veterans. I ! 2 j

In cooperation with the State Vocational Rehabilitation Department physical examination and medical services
are given without cost to applicants who qualify.
Steinmetz, Edison, Helen Keller, John Milton, and many outstanding persons in public life were physically
handicapped.
Experience has shown that handicapped workers as a group have slightly higher production records than non
handicapped workers.
