Buzhardt-White
A lovely wedding of much in
terest was that of Miss Lula
Bonnelle Buzhardt of Newberry
and Mr. John Richards White of
Dillard, Georgia, and Winnsboro,
which took place at 4 o’clock on
Sunday afternoon, July 6, in
Colony Lutheran Church, New
berry. The Reverend C. J. Rice,
pastor of the bride, officiated in
the presence of a large number
of relatives and friends.
Palms, fern, white gladioli,
and daisies were used to decor
ate the chancel of the church.
Tall white tapers in floor cand
elabra were placed among the
palms and fern.
Miss Bonnelle Cromer, pian
ist, and Miss Anna Belle Strick
land, soloist, furnished the mus
ic. Before the ceremony Miss
Cromer played “Schubert’s Sere
nade”, “Intermezzo” (from Cav-
alleria Rusticana) Mascagni, and
“To an Evening Star”. For the
processional, the Wedding March
from Lohengrin was used, while
Mendelssohn’s March was used
as the recessional. “O Perfect
Love’’ was played softly during
the ceremony. Prior to the
ceremony Miss Strickland sang
“I Love You Truly” and “Be
cause”. While the couple knelt
she sang “The Le T d’s Prayer”.

She carried an arm boquet of
pink . gladioli and carnations

Bobbie Bowers, cousin of the
bride, carried the ring in the
throat of a lily. He wore a
white linen suit.

by her uncle, Dr. A. L. Shealy,
Gainsville, Florida, was lovely
in a white crepe dress with
matching accessories. She car
ried a white satin Bible topped
with a golden throated orchid
and showered with white satin
ribbon tied with fern.
Robert White of Dillard, Geor
gia, was his brother’s best man.
The bride’s mother, Mrs. W.
L. Buzhardt, wore a navy blue
sheer dress with a pink carna
tion corsage.
The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs.

Last Polio Health Hint:
Avoid Sudden Chilling!
Sudden chilling such as
plunging into cold water on a
very hot day should be avoided
as the sixth and final health
precaution that should be ob
served in the polio season—
June through September—the
National Foundation for Infan
tile Paralysis cautions through
its local chapter.
Scientific research financed
by March of Dimes funds has
shown that when laboratory
animals exposed to the polio
virus were suddenly chilled,
twice as many developed acute and paralyzing attacks of the
disease as did a control group which had been protected from
sudden temperature changes.
Therefore, take no chances. To be on the safe side avoid
sudden chilling, the National Foundation advises.
