Her production of 10,707 pounds of milk and 477 pounds of but- terfat is the highest record in the state made by a junior two- year old milked twice daily for a ten-month period. The program included Sunbath ing, dancing, bingo and bowling at the pavilion, boat riding down the Little river and going up the cost to North Carlonia fishing and trips to Brookgreen gardens and Myrtle Beach. The girls were under the leadership of Miss Mittie Bry an, home economics teacher at Newberry high school, assisted by Miss Myra Boozer, Newberry and Misses Mary and Sara Ma- ner of Allendale. NAVY ANNOUNCES NEW TERMS FOR ENLISTMENT It was announced today by the Navy Recruiting station at The City Hall, Columbia, that the Navy has changed the terms of enlistment. Men with no previous naval service may now enlist for 3, 4, 6, or in the case of 17 year olds, not to exceed minority. Ex-Navy men who ■have been discharged over 3 months also come under this catagory, and for ex-navy and naval reserve men enlisting within 3 months of date of dis charge the terms of enlistment will be 2, 3, 4 or 6 years at the option of the applicant.
