WELFARE DEPARTMENT
Miss Marie Mayer of Pomaria,
has accepted a position as steno
grapher at the Department of
Public Welfare office on College
street, taking the place of Mrs.
James Smith, Jr., who resigned
to accept employment with the
Newberry Federal Savings and
Loan association.
Miss Mayer assumed her new
duties on Monday, March 17.

Miss Ludie Taylor returned
home Monday from Columbia
where she spent several , days
with her sister, Mrs. W. E. Har
rell and attended the Odiorne-
Harrell wedding in Timmons-
ville Friday evening, March 21.
