RAY DAWKINS COUNTY TREASURER NOTICE OF DELINQUENT TAX SALES WILL TAKE COURSE AT UNIVERSITY OF S. C. The State of South Carolina, County of Newberry. To All Whom These Presents May Concern: Whereas, by an Act of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, entitled, “An Act in Rela tion to Forfeited Lands, Delinquent Lands and Collections of Taxes,” ap proved December 24, 1887, and Acts amendatory thereof, the Treasurer of Newberry County of the aforesaid state has in compliance therewith, issued in- the name of the State, tax executions against defaulting tax payers of the aforesaid county and state as herein below listed and has directed T. L. Hill as Tax Collector of Newberry County, or his lawful deputy, to levy the same by distress and sale of so much of the default ing taxpayer’s estate, real or person al, or both, to satisfy the taxes of each defaulter. Whereas, it is further provided by the said Act, and Amendatory Acts, that under and by virtue of the said tax executions, the Tax Collector of Newberry County shall seize and take possession of so much of the default ing taxpayer's estate, real or person al, or both, to raise a sum of money sufficient to cover delinquent taxes of each taxpayer hereinafter listed plus the charges thereon. Having complied with these terms, the Tax Collector will, after advertisement, sell to the highest bidder or bidders for cash, the same property before the Court House Door of the afore said county on a regular sales day in March (same being March 4th, 1946), within the usual hours for public sales. After completing the sales, the Tax Collector will give to the purchaser (upon his complying with terms of the sale) a receipt for the purchase money, but not to make title to the purchaser until after the lapse of twevle months from the date of sale. Hart Jordan, pased away at the Newberry County Hospital Sunday night after several weeks’ illness. She was born at Paw Creek, N. C., the daughter of the late J. Harrison and Lula J. Crump Alexander, but had made her home here for the past four years, where her husband is connected with the Mollohon branch of the Kendall Mills, serving as overseer of the card room. She had endeared herself to a host of friends who will be grieved to learn of her passing. Surviving besides her husband are two brothers, James Alexander, St. Simms Island, Ga., and Jack Alexander, Charlotte, N. C.; four sisters, Miss Luvy Alexander, Fed- eralburg, Md., Mrs. J. C. Bumgard- ner, Charlotte, N. C., Mrs. Daisy Cloninger, Paw Creek, N. C., and Mrs. Helen Sanderson, Charlotte, N. C.
