GHAKMiS W. STOUDEMIRE
Charles Wesley Stoudemire, 89,
died early Sunday morning at the
home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary
Anna Matthews of Little Mountain.
He had been ill for two weeks.
Mr. Stoudemire was born and
reared near Peak and had spent his
entire life in the Peak and Little
Mountain sections of the county. His
wife, Mrs. Alice Fulmer Stoudemire,
died about 12 years ago.
He is survived by the following
children: Mrs. Mattie E. Stoudemire,
Lonnie O. Stodemire, Mrs. Mary |
Anna Matthews, Joseph N. Stoude
mire, Mrs. Georgia L. Summer, Mrs.
Hazel E. Amick, Mrs. Katie F. Ful- j
mer, and Robert Cleveland Stoude
mire; 35 grandchildren, 42 great
grandchildren and five great-great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Mon
day morning at li o'clock from Holy
Trinity Lutheran church with Rev.
Albert Timmerman conducting the
service. Interment followed in the
church cemetery.
STEAL 50 POUNDS MEAT
Thieves broke into the smoke
house of Cecil E. Fellers on the cut
off road Saturday night about 9:30
stealing about 50 pounds of meat.
The Fellers were away at the time,
and didn’t discover the loss until
early Sunday morning.
RETURNS TO WORK HERE
A. P. Farris, for several years em
ployed with the Belk stores here and
later as agent of the Pilot Life In
surance company, has accepted a
.position with the Clarkson Insurance
company and will move his family
back to Newberry. He has lately
been in Columbia and Sumter. The
Clarkson company, which has here
tofore confined its business to hos
pital insurance, will begin issuing
industrial and regular life insurance
and it is in this branch of the busi
ness that Mr Farris will be em
ployed.
Miss Ruby Kinard spent the past
weekend in Charlc. e, N. C.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Paysinger
and family have mo>red from Mayer
avenue to their new e-emodled heme
on the Greenwood highway near the
city. - • "
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carroll are mak
ing their, home at .1227 Glenn street.
They moved from' the county home

dles, centered with a crystal
bowl of pink sweet .peas.

scheme was carried out
throughout the rooms where
