r'AOE EIGHT ■>' r. HOOD-BOLAND Historic old Brownsville Baptist church at Blenheim was the scene of a simple but beautiful wedding Sun day, May 13th, when immediately af ter the morning worship service, Miss Elizabeth Ellen Hood of Brownsville and Columbia became the bride of C. Roy Boland, in the presence of rela tives and close friends. The church was decorated with ap propriate flowers for the occasion; Pichardy gladioli forming the back ground of the improvised altar before which the vows were spoken. The Rev. J. C. Lawson, pastor, officiated, using the ring ceremony. Mrs. Griffith John, at the piano, rendered a program of instrumental selections prior to the ceremony, in cluding “Because” and “Until” with “I Love You Truly” during the cere mony and the traditional wedding marches. A vocal solo, “O, Promise Me”, was sung by Mrs. David Alcorn. The bride wore a becoming suit of navy wool gabardine, navy hat and matching accessories. Her corsage was of Talisman roses. Her only ornament was a double string of pearls, a gift from the bridegroom. Immediately following the cere mony, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Hood, bro ther and sister of the bride, gave an informal dinner at their country liome in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Boland._ During the afternoon the couple left by plane for a short wedding trip. Upon their return they will be at home at 1505 Hampton street, Co lumbia. Mrs. Boland, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Franklin Hood of the Brownsville commurity, received her education in the pv.blic schools of Marlboro county and Draughon’s Business college of Co lumbia.
