■m MISS WOLFF AND LT. HAWKINS WED IN CHURCH CEREMONY The First Methodist church was the scene of a lovely wedding Sunday afternoon, April 29, at 5 o’clock when Miss Anna Elizabeth Wolff, only child of Mr. and Mrs- Bishop Marvin Wolff, became the bride of Lt. Miles Chester Hawkins, of New berry, who has just returned after three years service with the U. S, army in Southwest Pacific war area The Rev. Adlai C. Holler, pastor of the church, officiated in the pres ence of a large assemblage of rela tives and friends. The impressive double ring ceremony was used. The church was beautifully decor ated for the occasion in bridal green and White. Tall floor baskets of deutzia and white gladioli were ar ranged at intervals with cathedral candelabra against a background of palms. The altar rail was covered with graceful ivy and magnolia leaves and outlined with glowing candles. Magnolia bouquets tied with tulle indicated the ipews reserved for the family and close friends. The wedding music was rendered by Mrs. J. K. Taylor, organist, and Mrs. R. T. Wilson, soprano soloist. As prenuptial selections, Mrs. Tay lor played “Venetian Love Song,” Nevin, and “Estrellita,” Ponce. While the candles were being lighted, she played “Traumerei,” Schumann, and later, as an organ solo, “Liebes traum,” Liszt. Mrs. Wilson sang, “L’Amour Toujours,” Friml, and “Through The Years,” Voumans, and as a benediction, “Seal Us, O Holy •Spirit," Meredith. The traditional wedding marches were used as the processional and recessional. Serving as bridesmaids were Mrs. Joe Montgomery and Miss Dorothy Long. Mrs. Montgomery wore dress of lavendar with rose flower hat and carried a shower bouquet in the same hues. Miss Long’s dress was of pink with a lavendar hat and similar bouquet. Miss Evelyn Milam, the maid-of- honor wore a dress of light blue, yellow flower hat and matching bouquet. The ushergroomsmen were Mr. Floyd Lane, of Clinton, and Mr. F. E. Hawkins, of Blacksburg, brother of the bridegroom. Lt. Hawkins had as his best man his brother, Mr. G. F. Hawkins, USNR, of Fredericksburg, Va. The bride, who was given in mar riage by her father, was lovely in her wedding dress of tailored blue, Her heart-shaped hat of pink sequins had a small veil of the same shade, her accessories were white. Her bridal bouquet was of pink roses and swansonia centered with a detach able corsage of gardenias. Her only ornament was a strand of ipearls be longing to her mother. Mrs. Wolff, mother of the bride, wore a gold dress with flower hat of green and rust and a corsage of talisman roses. Mrs. Wilson’s dress was of gray and her hat and corsage of Ameri can Beauty roses. During the evening, Lt. and Mrs. Hawkins left on a honeymoon trip to the mountains of North Carolina. For traveling, the bride wore a coat suit of gold flannel with white ac cessories. After two weeks’ leave, Lt. Hawkins, with his bride, will go to Miami, for re-assignment.
