Miss Mary Birge Kohn, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Hal Kohn of NcW-
ber.y, became the bride of Ensign
John Wilbur Hicks, son of Mr. and
Mis. J. W. Hicks of Greenville, Sat
urday afternoon, February 10, at
5:30 o’clock. The marriage was solem
nized in St. Mark’s Evangelical Luth
eran church, Boston Mass., befo.e
the immediate families and a few
close friends. The pnstor erf the
church, the Rev. W. B. Sadtler, offi
ciated in the double ring ceremony.
The nuptial music was furnished by
Mrs. Sadtler, organist, and Marvin
Behrens, tenor. The bride met the
groom at the chancel. They spoke
their vows before an altar adorned
with white carnations and candle-
labre.
Miss Kohn chose for her wedding
ensemble a chocolate brown coat-
suit with white brocade blouse and
matching accessories. Her corsage
was a white orchid with frecsia. Snr
carried her grandmother’s wedding
handkerefief.
The bride studied at Newberry
College and was graduated last year
from Winthrop College where she
was a member of the Kappa Pi and
Pi Gamma Mu fraternities. Since
fall she has been a student at Mas
sachusetts Art School in Boston, and
a member of the staff of Rust Craft
Greeting 1 Card Company.

after completing a year of graduate
study at the University of Virginia, i
At present he is stationed in Boston
studying nt Massachusetts Institute

street. Louise Ezell and Elizabeth
Younce were lucky scorers and the
honor guest was also presented a
gift.
Again on Thursday afternoon. Mrs.
Turner was honor guest at a bridge
afternon luncheon given by Mrs.
David Hayes when the guests includ
ed Mrs. Henry P. Baker of Green-
wod, and Molly Kirkland from Win
throp college: Mrs. Walter Summeir,
bride of the past weekend, and Mrs.
F. C. Gilbert, mother of the honoree.
Then on Friday afternoon Mrs. The-
ron Mills and her daughter, Rose
mary Albrecht, invited a group of
Rebecca Ann’s friends for bridge and
a salad collation after cards when
Mrs. F. C. Gilbert an Mrs. Fannie
Mayer joined the group.
Saturday afternon Mrs. Virgil
Ruff (Dorothy Weir) gave a bridge
party and linen shower for her, and
Mrs. Gilbert, Mrs. Dave Hayes, Mrs.
J. W. Earhardt, Jr. and Mabel Sum,
mer. University of South Carolina
student joined the players for “eats”,
consisting of a tempting salad
course.
