Contributions Sought
For County Hospital
The Board of Trustees of the
Newberry County hospital, at a
meeting held Wednesday, adopted a
resolution looking forward to the
construction of an addition to the
main building, which is much need
ed. The hospital oftentimes is too
crowded for the proper accommoda
tion of the patients therein, and,
in several instances, patients who
wished admission could not be ad
mitted because of lack of room.
More and more the people of New
berry county have come to realize
the advantages of our hospital and
the desirability of having the sick,
injured and afflicted treated in the
hospital rather than in their own
homes. 1
Also, the Board of Trustees feel
that additional modem equipment
should be furnished.
The Board contemplates starting
early next year an active campaign
for contributions from the people of
the colnty. They have decided that
during this month they will be glad
to accept contributions from those
who feel disposed to make them.
We have been requested to make
this public announcement, so that
those who feel inclined to aid . in
-this ^reat benevolent work will
have thfr matter called to their at
tention. Contributions will be re
ceived by Mr. Z. F. Wright, -presi
dent of the Board, or by Mr. George-
K. Dominick, the treasurer.
The Newberry county hospital has
been, and is now rendering a great
service to the people of Newberry
county. We wonder sometimes how
we ever got along without a hospital.
We are confident that the people
of Newberry will contribute gener
ously to the worthy cause of en
larging and improving our hospital,
so that this institution in turn may
be "of greater benefit in the future
to our people.
The members of the Board of
Trustees of the hospital are Z. F.
Wright, Mrs. J. N. McCaughrin, Dr.
S. J. Derrick, George K. Dominick,
Judge Eugene S. Blease, E. A. Car
penter, Joseph L. Keitt, Mrs. R,
Herman Wright and A. W. Murray.
