Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Purcell wish to

daughter Trent Keitt, to Clarence
Delano Coleman, Lt. U. S. N. R., of
Newberry, S. C. and Jacksonville,
Fla. The wedding will take place in
the late summer.

Centering Che cordial interest of
friends and relatives was the mar-
liage of Miss Jean Carroll to A.
Keith Roberts of Miley, S. C. and
Banana River Air Base, Florida. The
ceremony was solemnized at 5:30
o’clock Sunday afternoon, June 25th
at the Methodist church in Cocoa
Rockledge, Florida. The impressive
ring ceremony of the Methodist
church was used with the Rev. H. A.
Page officiating. The bride wore an
all white costume and a shoulder
corsage of orchids.
Mrs. Roberts, the only daughter of
Mr. a nd Mrs. R. G. Carroll, received
her education in the Newberry City
schools and is now a junior at New
berry College. Mr. Roberts is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Roberts of
Miley, S. C. Prior to his enlistment
in the Navy, he attended Newberry
College.
An out-of-town guest was Mrs. R.
G. Carroll, mother of the bride.

their youngest daughter, Allie Lou,
to Robert Lewis Hulsabus, Jr., En
sign United States Navy, of Messer-
vey, Iowa, on June 29th.
The wedding took place in River
side church, Riverside Drive, New
York City at five o’clock in the af
ternoon with the Rev. Eugene House,
Presbyterian minister pronouncing
the ceremony in the presence of a
group of friends
Cornelia Clary, sister of the bride,
was maid of honor and the only at
tendant.
The bride wore a chic two-pieced
suit of ceil blue linen with white ac
cessories and orchid corsage.
Mrs. Hulsebus, a lovely blond, is a
junior at Newberry college. She is a
graduate of Newberry High school.
Ensign Hulsebus, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Lewis Hulsebus, Sr.
of Meservey, Iowa, entered the Nava]
service from Luther College, Iowa,
taking other training at the V-12
Navy unit at Newerry College and
received his commission from Colum
bia University, New York City on
June 29th, just prior to his marriajge.
The young couple left immediately
after the ceremony for a short visit
with his parents in Iowa after which
he will report for duty in California.

ROBERT LEE KIBLER
News has been received here of
the death of Robert Lee Kibler,
whose death occurred Saturday ‘ at
Hie Veterans’ Home of California in
Napa county, California.
Funeral services will be held Wed
nesday with interment in Prisidio
National cemetery, San Francisco,
California
Mr. Kibler was born and reared
in Newberry, the son of the late'D.
W. T. Kibler and Julia Ann Kibler.
He is survived by two sisters,
Mies Gussie Kibler of Newberry and
Mrs. R. F. Bryant of Orangeburg;
and one brother, Lawson B. Kibler,
of San Francisco, California.
