AT TWO LOVELY PARTIES
The Fortnightly club was enter
tained Tuesday morning at the Wal
lace Home with Miss Mary Burton
hostess. Six tables were laid for
guests, three of the tables not wrem-l
bers of the club.
Mrs. T. H. Pope, Sr., was lucky
winner of the 120 bid prize.
A three course luncheon was serv
ed at noon.
Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Goodman of
Concord, N. C., were Easter visitors
in the home of his parents, Dr. and
Mrs. R. A. Goodman on the College
campus.
Sunday guests of Mrs. D. L. Hamm
of Silverstreet were Mr. and Mrs.
J. H. Hamm, and Mr. and Mrs. Yates
Stroupe of Charlotte, N. C.
Six tables were laid for contract
in the Wallace Home Tuesday after
noon when MDs Burton was again
hostess to a number of friends. Win
ning • prizes for the morning were
Mrs. Steve Griffith, high, Mrs. Dick
Baker, second, Mrs. R. W. Kirkland,
bingo.
A sandwich tray and iced punch
was served at the close of the game.
For both parties, the Wallace Home
was brightly decorated with spring
flowers.

before her recent marriage was Miss
Eloise Singley, of Prosperity, was
guest of honor at a lovely contract
party given Thursday afternoon at
the Wallace Home, by Mrs. Roy
Clary and Mrs. Duncan Johnson, Sr.
Spring flowers were used in pro
fusion in the rooms where three
tables were laid for guests. Sev
eral friends were invited to call af
ter cards.
Sandwiches, cheese straws, and
cakes were served with iced tea. The
hostesses presented a lovely girt to
the bride.
