Miss Seigler sang “I Love Thee”,
by Greig, and “Because”, by Guy
d'Hardelot. The traditional
marches were used and during the
ceremony Mrs. Talbert played
“Seal Us Oh Holy Spirit”.
Mrs. Buzhardt wore a black
sheer with tiny hat of red roses
which were replicas of those used
in her corsage. Her accessories
were black and white.

Mrs. Buzhardt is the only
daughter of Mr. and Mrs^ George
Jamie Sanders of McCormick, her
mother being the former Miss
Stora Caudle of Pikeville, Ken
tucky. She was graduated from
Winthrop College, Rock Hill, and
| for the past two years has taught
in the High School at Waynesboro,
Ga.
Lt. Buzhardt is the only child
of Mr. and Mrs. J. Fred Buzhardt.
His mother is the former Miss
Edna Hardin of Greenville. He
attended Wofford College two
years before receiving his ap
pointment to the U. S. Military
Academy at West Point, N. Y. He
was graduated there on June 4th,
receiving his wings the week be
fore he was commissioned lieuten
ant.
Immediately following the cere
mony Mr. and Mrs. Sanders en
tertained with an informal re
ception at their home on Gold
Street. Iced punch was served on
the lawn and block ice cream,
angle cakes and cala lily mints
were served in the dining room.
The linen covered table had in its
center the three tiered wedding

grees were awarded to many
scientists, distinguished servic .■
men and students from many
lands.
Flags of the nations were un
furled on either side of the broad
steps of Memorial Library, and
selections of inspiring music ren
dered during the long processional.
More than 12,000 guests were
seated in the chairs placed i i
South Field and 116th street of
Columbia’s campus.
Miss Britt, a graduate of Teach
ers College,. Paterson^ N. J., wai
kindergarten teacher of schools of
W. Paterson several years before
she joined the WAVES in 1942.
She received her training at th?
University of Oklahoma, and was
stationed at the Naval Base at
Corpus Christi, Texas, during th?
three and one half years’ servic?
in the navy.
On June 5th Miss Britt re-en
tered Columbia for work on her
M. A. degree. She has been fortu
nate in part time job as teacher of
beginners in Barnard Privat?
School and has accepted this part
time job for the ensuing year.
On Thursday night. Dr. and
Mrs. C. K. Epting enterained with
a stag dinner party in compliment
to Lt. J. Fred Buzhardt, Jr., and
his wedding attendants.
Mrs. Epting served a three
course dinner and invited the
