Greenville, June 15. — Approxi mately 100 South Carolina minis ters will be on the Furman uni versity campus between June 17 and June 28 attending the Fur man University School for Minis ters, Dr. E. F. Haight, head of the I department of religion at Furman, announced today. Speakers at the session will be: first week, Dr. C. Penrose St. A- mant, professor of Christian his tory and theology, Baptist Bible Institute, New Orleans, and Dr. E. Zieslie Carlson, professor of Old Testament introduction and inter pretation, Southwestern Baptist Theological seminary. Fort Worth, Texas; and second week, Dr. Oaines S. Dobbins, professor of re ligious education and church ad ministration, Southern Baptist Theological seminary, Louisville, Ky.. and Dr. Haight. Dr. St. Amant will lecture on “Christianity and Crisis” each morning during the first week, and Dr. Carlson will lecture on “Studies in Genesis” during the morning sessions also. The night meetings during the first week will be devoted to ‘‘Studies from Deuteronomy as Related to the Modern World” with Dr. Carlson m charge. Dr. Haight’s lecture subject for the second week will be “Studies in Ephesians” and Dr. Dobbins will use as his topic “Studies in Bap tist Church Life.” Dr. Dobbins will deliver a sermon each night dur- imr the second week. # The ministers attending the ses sion are being housed in Geer hall on the men’s campus. Moke your vacation trip— and all trips—saMyl May Production Record Detroit, June 3. — Despite re stricting factors of national coal and transportation strikes, as well as a variety of tie-ups on the part of suppliers, Chevrolet during the month of May established a new high production record for the auto industry in its post—VJ Day history, producing 58,820 cars and trucks, it was announced here to day by Hugh Dean, general man ufacturing manager, Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors. The 58,820 total includes 30,367 passenger cars and 28,453 trucks, Mr. Dean said. The comparable monthly total for April, best pre vious postwar month production- wise, is 47,077 units.
