Homes.

One has written that a child’s
education should begin twenty
years before his birth; another has
said it should begin with his
grandparents. Certainly much de
pends upon the culture of his par
ents and their parents. Timothy
was a shining example of good
training and* his v/as a heritage
of two generations of faith. That
Jberitage and the training of his
home have been blessed through
^Timothy unto men for 2000 years.
His great preceptor, Paul, wrote
Timothy to “stir up the gift of
God” in himself. While parents
are concerned that the influence
of the home shall be of the best,
children must be concerned that
those influences shall not be in
▼ain. x imothy was exhorted to a-
bide in the things which he had
learned from childhood, as know
ing that the sacred writings would
make him wise unto salvation
through faith in Christ.
In his letter to Titus, another
young man dear to Paul, the a-
postle wrote of title responoioilicy
of parents and other aged persons
—their own deportment should be
light that their influence might
be good. Both aged men and
women should be temperate, ab
staining from strong drink and
.setting an example of sobriety.
Many a drunkard s career as such
begins in the home, where liquors
are used. Alas! he can then fine

Finally, “the grace of God hath
appeared, bringing salvation to all
men” who will receive it. Both..ip.

away and good things learned and
cultivated.
