TOWN TAX NOTICE BE IT ORDAINED J3Y THE TOWN COTTNCIT, OF THE TOWN OF McCORMICK, AND BY AU THORITY OF SAME: SECTION ONE: That a tax ot six mills of the assessed valua tion of all real and personal property lying within the corpor ate limits of the Town *of McCor mick, S. C., as assessed for State and County purposes is hereby levied and assessed to x njpet and defray the current expenses . of the Town of McCormick, S. C., for the fiscal year beginning October 1st, 1944, the said taxes shall be due and payable at the office ot the Town Clerk on the 1st day of October, 1944. SECTION TWO. That in addi tion to the above levy of six mills for current expensed as pro vided in section one of this ordi nance, a levy of thirty six (36) mills is hereby made upon all me real and personal property lying within the corporate limits of the Town of McCormick, the same being levied for the purpose of paying interest on bonds and to retire bonds of the Town of Mc Cormick, S. C. SECTION THREE. The Clerk and Treasurer shall enter said levies and assessments upon the books of the said Town of McCor mick and receive said taxes, that the said taxes shall be paid to the Clerk and Treasurer in lawful money of the United States on or before the 1st day of January, 1945. SECTION FOUR. That on all taxes and assessments, or any portion thereof, charged against any property or party on the duplicate for the fiscal current year and due the Town of McCor mick, S. C.. that shall not be paid on or before the first day of Jan uary, 1945, the Clerk shall add a penalty of 1%, that on the 1st day of February, 1% additional penal ty shall be added making a total of 2%. That oh the 15th day of March, all taxes remaining unpaid lor the previous year shall be placed in execution and an addi tional penalty of 5% be added and the Clerk shall issue his execution directed to the Chief of Police who shall proceed to col lect the past due tax together with penalties and costs. Done and ratified by the Town Council of the Town of McCor mick, S. C., in council assembled and the seal of the town affixed, this the 4th day of September, H944. T. J. SIBERT, Mayor. C. R.
