I Tells Home Owners 1 How To Get Lumber And Materials For Repairs In answer to inquiries from home owners who want to know how they can get lumber and oth er materials for emergency repairs, War Production Board officials ex plained that the Federal Housing Administration is responsible for residential property, except farms, and therefore home owners shoula go to the nearest office of that a- gency for assistance. “But don’t ask for lumber right now unless your case is one of ex treme emergency, and your home is uninhabitable as a result of damage caused by fire, flood or some similar disaster,” officials warned. “The demand for lumber for all purposes far exceeds pres ent supnlies. It £s today the No. 1 critical building material.” Farmers in need of repair ma terials for either homes or farm buidings should apply to the County Agricultural Conservation Committee, who will help them fill out the proper application forms. It was explained that while WPB has control over the repair mate rials these other agencies are re sponsible for assisting property owners at all times. It is WPB forms that must be filled. in but it is necessary to go through Ihe designated federal agency in order to obtain approval in each indi vidual case. Owners or managers of commer cial residential property such as apartment houses, hotels, etc., file application forms for repair ma terials direct with their nearest WPB field office. Notice For Bids For Transportation Pupils Sealed bids will be received un til 12 o’clock noon, September 22, 1944. for the transportation of pupils from the following school district: Bordeaux School District No. 3 to De la Howe State School. All bids shall be addressed to the County Superintendent of Education, marked on outside of sealed envelope, “Bid for Trans portation of pupils in School District No. ” and shall be opened at the hour des ignated in this advertisement. Bids will be opened and awards made by the County Board of Education, within two days after bids are received, who shall have the right to reject and and all bids, and to re-advertise for new and additional bids.
