Mr. Talbert said OPA took this
action to help dispose of the nor
mal accumulation of broken sizes
and other odds and ends which
are usually sold at reduced prices
but which, under rationing, need
to be declared stamp free it
stocks are to be cleared.
REGULATION CLARIFIED
The gasoline rationing regula
tion has been clarified to allow
issuance of gasoline “E” and “It”
coupons for use in a registered
vehicle if that vehicle is to serve
as a power unit for such non
highway uses as driving saws,
pumps, mills and the like, or n
the fuel is to be used by auto
mobile repairmen for testing mo
tors. However, it is provided that
such gasoline may not be used to
propel the vehicle.
FAT SALVAGE
Housewives and other persons
who collect waste kitchen fats
will continue to be paid both in
ration points and cash for all
household salvage fats turned in
to food stores, Mr. E. H. Talbert,
district director, announced.
The current rate of payment is
