Crew quarters, storage space and lock ers are in narrow compartments in her sides. Between is her open tank well. The LSMs are more than 200 feet long and have a beam of 34 feet at the widest point. A stern winch and anchor are used by LSMs to drag themselves off the beach after unloading. And that’s the story of the “Pacific Puddle-jumper” that will some day bridge the islands to H. C. WALKER.
