JShuford and family this week, on hier 'wav to Langley Field, Va.. to visit Lt. and Mrs. Krause. Mrs. Morgan formerly lived here as Miss Wofford Cheatham. Mrs. Edgar Foreman and hand- rome little son, Edgar, Junior, spent the past week end with Mrs. Foreman’s mother, Mrs. J. P. Mayson, Jr., of Wash ington and Columbia, respectively, spent the past week end with their parents of this community. Visitors in the home of Mr. and Mrs. L- E. Winn Sunday afternoon were Miss Frances Mae Winn of Augusta, Mrs: Minnie Winn, Bill and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ridle- hoover. Mr. Otis Winn of Washington is visiting Ms mother, Mrs. Minnie Winn, of the Rehoboth communi ty. Pvt. and Mrs. Woodrow Gallison cf Marietta, Georgia, end Fort ackson, S. C., visited ^fr. and Mrs. r. W. Callison during 'the week end. Pfc. Edgar Winn of Keesler Field, Mississippi, is spending a 15 days’ furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Winn. Pvt. Warren L. Winn of Fort Jackson spent the past week end with his mother, Mrs.. Janelle Winn. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Mayson of Greenwood spent the past week end with Mr. and Mrs. W. W. May- son, Jr. Plum Branch News Mr. a,nd Mrs. Strother Murdock and children of Williamston spent Sunday in the home of Rev. and Mrs. Foster S^eer. Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Winn and Miss Mable Winn of Augusta spent Sunday and Monday at points of interest in N. C. Miss Cornelia Freeland, student nurse at the University Hospital in Augusta, visited in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Free land, the past week end. Mrs. A. T. Moore of Ridgeway has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Foster Speer. She and Mrs. Speer are visiting relatives in William ston this week. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Willis, who have three sons in the armed forces, have recently been notified that their son, J. Austin Willis, who is stationed in Texas, has been promoted to corporal. Pvt. Grady Willis, who has recently visited them, is stationed in Canada. Har ry Willis, s. 2c, U. S. Navy, Bain bridge, Md., is enjoying a furlough at home now. Miss Carolyn Rice, student at Columbia College, Columbia, visited relatives here the past week end. Mrs. J. R. Wilkie is visiting in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bracknell, while her husband, Lt. Wilkie, is having a month’s specialized training at Ft. Riley, Kansas. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Timm ci Augusta visited in the home Mrs. Minnie Wells on last Suncaj,. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Connell and little daughter, Nina, of Augusta spent the past week end in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Wells, Mrs. Guy E. Carr and little son. Guy, Jr., are visiting relatives in Lancaster. J. T. Forrester of Charleston vis ited his family here the past week end. Mrs. E. C. Winn of Augusta was a recent visitor in the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Winn, before flying to San Antonio, Texas, to join her husband who is stationed there. Miss Eva Reynolds of Augusta is visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Reynolds. Mr. and Mrs. Millard Crawford and daughter of Parksville spent Sunday with relatives here. Ev erybody is about thru picking cot ton. Nothing to do. Mrs. J. C. McDaniel and children were week end visitors to Augusta and Charleston. Miss Nell Bussey spent the week end among relatives and friends in Augusta. Sgt. and Mrs. Clarence Howie spent the past week here and in Augusta. Mrs. Donald Hancock left Satur day for Kansas City, Mo. Miss Lucy Bussey accompanied her as far as Jefferson, Ga., and returned home on Tuesday morning. Miss Sarah Howie was a week end visiter to relatives in Augusta. Miss Lucy Bussey is spending a couple cf weeks among friends in Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. K. E. White of White Town were dinner guests here Sunday to Mr. and Mrs. O. J. White. Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Howie and Sgt. and Mrs. Clarence Howie were spend the day guests one day the past week to Misses Lucy and Ro salie Bussey. Mr. Chester Bussey of Augusta was a week end visitor here to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Bus sey. X Mt. Carmel News Miss Gladys Scott of Davidson. N. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Black of Bel ton were guests of Mrs. Ida Black Sunday. Mrs. Dora Bryson of Calhoun Falls spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Ida Black. Miss Matilda Bell of McCormick and Mrs. J. L. Bowick attended the meeting of the H. D. Club at the clubroom in Mt. Carmel Tues day afternoon. A very interesting and helpful program was carried out by the president, Miss Lennie Covin, and Miss Bell demonstrated the value of the right kind qf food for poultry. Cnl. James L. Jones of Ft. Geo. G. Meade, Maryland, spent a pleas ant 10 days with his mother, Mrs. Corinne Smith Jones, and grand mother. Mrs. Mary Smith. Their many friends were so glad to see him and so glad his visit would make them so happy. Cpl. Jones serves as laboratory technician at Ft. Geo. G. Meade.
