A lovely, but i simple wedding
took place at pesley Memorial
Methodist Church, Sunday * March
28, 1943, at 3 o’clock in the after
noon, when Miss Edith Mae Winn
of Ipdgefield and Columbia and
Pvt. James D. Geiger of Columbia
and Fort Myers, Fla./ were
married, the Rev. Toy F. Reid of
ficiating.
Palms, Southern smilax and ivy
with white gladioli were used to
decorate the church.
Before the ceremony, Mrs. Helen
M. Jenkins, organist, gave a lovely
program of wedding music. She
also played the wedding marches,
and the accompaniment for W.
M. Rivers, who sang,. “I Love You
Truly” (Boyd), and “The Sweetest
Story Ever Told”, (Stultsh “To A
Wild Rose,” (MacDowell), 5 was
softly played during the cere
mony. Miss Virginia Winn, sister
of the bride, was maid of honor.
She wore a pink and blue cos
tume, a small tan hat and a cor- [
sage of white roses.
H. E. Kaiser and Giles Fleming 1
were the ushers. Willis Dozier was I
the best man.
The bride, a lovely brunet, who
entered with th£ bridegroom, wore
a spring suit of powder blue, an
cff-the-face navy hat with a short
veil, navy shoes, and white gloves.
A corsage of gardenias completed
her costume.
Mrs. Geiger is the daughter of
Mrs. Warren L. Winn and the late
Mr. Winn of Edegfield. For a
number of years, Mrs. Geiger has
been a nurse at State Park Sani-
torium.
Mr. Geiger is the son of Mrs. J.
D. Geiger, Sr., and the late Mr.
Geiger of Columbia. At present
he is an instructor at Fort Myers,
Fla., where he is with the Army
Air Corps. t
The young couple will make
their home at Fort Myers, Fla.,
after a short wedding trip.
Attending the wedding from
Edgefield were Mrs. Warren L.
Winn, mother of the bride, and
Mrs. Bob Carpenter and Miss Vir
ginia Winn of Greenwood, the
bride’s sisters.

Miss Mary Emma Rankin and
Mr. Ana$tase C. Kehaya were
quietly married here on Wednes
day evening, April T, at the Bap
tist pastorium with her pastor,
the Rev. L. K. Simpson officiating.
He used the ring ceremony with
only a few close friends witnes
sing.
| Mrs. Kehaya is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. N. G. Rankin of Mc
Cormick. Since completing her
education she has been engaged
in secretarial work here in Mc
Cormick where she is a popular
member of the younger group.
For a long time she has taken
a place of leadership in the young
people’s work of her church and
has endeared herself to all with
whom she has been associated.
For her marriage she I was beauti
ful in a garbardine suit of navy
blue and accessories of white. Her
flowers were pink radiance rose
buds in shoulder corsage.
Mr. Kehaya is a native of
Greece, the son of the late Right
Rev. Constantine and Sophia
Psomiadis Kehaya, of that coun
try. He was educated in the
Military School of Turkey and the
New York Military Academy, hav-
been in America since 1915. He
has made his home in McCormick
for the past two years where he
is associated with Abernathy &
Kehaya Manganese Mining Co.
Following a wedding trip they
are making their home on East
Main Street.
