Wideman of Plum Branch was a visitor here one day the past week. Mrs. Drew Timmerman of North Augusta spent the week end with her sister, Mrs. Joe W. Christian, of the Bethany community. Mr. J. M. Hemminger of Willing- ton was a visitor here one day this week. Miss Virginia Wilkins, student at Limestone College, Gaffney, spent the week end here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Wilkins. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hughes and children of Columbia spent Sun day here with his mother, Mrs. Miriam Hughes. Rev. and Mrs. L. K. Simpson, Mrs. J. S: Dukes and Mrs. G. C. Patterson represented the McCor mick Baptist Church at the State W. M. U. Convention in Columbia last Thursday. Lt. and Mrs. Benton Talbert and son Kenneth, of Ft. Benning were week end guests of relatives here. Mrs. Talbert’s sister, Mrs. Emory Bentley, and little son, Bobby, re turned with them for a visit of two weeks. D. Club held its regular meeting in the home of Mrs. David A. Young Wednesday, April 8th, with 10 members pres ent. Mrs. Baillous Long was ad mitted as a new member. Scripture was read by Miss Vera Young; prayer by the club, after which they sang The Star Spangle Banner. The meeting was turned over to Miss Bell, who gave an interesting demonstration on the many ways of cookiiig cabbage. /The hostess served in buffet style, delicious sandwiches, sweet crackers, and ice tea and candy.
