Lee and son, Master Melvin, of Covington, Ky., arrived one day last week for a visit to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Lee. Mr. Lee returned to Covington Monday, while Mrs. Lee and Melvin remained for a longer visit. Mrs. Pat Shuler of Orangeburg is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Patterson. Mrs. W. C. Bachman of Colum bia spent the past week in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Winn, of Plum Branch. Lieutenant John William Brad ley of Fort Bragg, N. C., spent the week end here with his wife and daughter who are spending some Mrs. Ella Parks Lankford of Chattanooga, Tenn., announces the marriage of her daughter, Annie Lou, to Herman Pinkney Schmidt in Jonesboro, Ark., on July 5, 1941. Mrs. Schmidt is the second daughter of Mrs. Lankford and the late Matthew P. Lankford. After receiving her education at Winthrop College, she taught in the public schools of McCormick County several years. Mr. Schmidt is the son of Mrs. Ida Catherine Schmidt and the late Dr. Charles Schmidt of St. Jacob, 111. Both Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt are connected with the G. E. Labora tories. After a trip to relatives in Illinois the couple is at home at 1022 McCallie Ave., Chattanooga, Tenn. xx W. M. S. To Observe Special Season Of Prayer Next Week The W. M. S. of the Baptist Church will observe a special season of prayer for Foreign Mis sions next week, Dec. 1-5, inclusive. There will be an all day Mission Study Class Tuesday at the home of Mrs. J. A. Talbert. Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 both circles will meet—the Ann Watson, with Mrs. Ernest Hanvey; Neal Young, with Mrs. J. M. Dom. Thursday at 3:30 there will be a service at the home of Mrs. J. S. Dukes, and Friday at 3:30 at Mrs. R. L. Faulkner’s. U. Director. X Willington H. D. Club Meets The Willington Home Demon stration Club held its regular meeting November 6, at the Com munity House. In the absence of the president, the vice president. Mrs. Chester McNair, conductel the devotional and the minute i were read by the secretary, Mrs. A. B. Andrews. Miss Bell, the County Home Demonstration Agent, gave summary of the years work, going briefly over each lesson of the year. Record cards were distributed and those present filled out hom> practices on each of the demon strations given, during the year. After the business and social hour, the meeting adjourned.
