Miss Lillie Frances Moss and
Mr. Ralph Breland Bischoff, were
united in marriage Saturday af
ternoon, November 1st, at four
thirty o’clock in a beautiful set
ting at the Troy Methodist church.
The Rev. M. E. Derrick of Wood
ruff, former pastor of the bride,
officiated, using the impressive
ring ceremony. He was assisted
by the Rev. W. M. Owings, the
bride’s pastor, of McCormick.
The altar was banked with ever
greens and southern smilax, in
terspersed with floor candelabra
holding white tapers, and floor
baskets of giant white crysanthe-
mums and fern. The chancel and
arch overhead were covered with
white and entwined with smilax
also.
A program of nuptial music was
given by Mrs. B. F. Moss of Au
gusta, pianist, and Mrs. D. C. Tal
bert and Mrs. J. F. Mattison of
McCormick, vocalists. Mrs. Tal
bert sang, “I Love You Truly”,
and she with Mrs. Mattison, sang,
“Sweetest Story Ever Told”. Mrs.
Moss played “Traumeri” during
the ceremony, and the traditional
wedding marches were used.
Bridesmaids were: Miss Isabel
White, of Troy and Charlotte,
N. C.; Miss Frances Webb, Beach
Island; Mrs. H. H. Brown, Abbe
ville; Mrs. Fred Werts, Wagner;
Miss Marie Buck, Langley; and
Mrs. J. B. Moss of Augusta. Miss
Edith Beard of Langley was maid
of honor and Mrs. William A.
Moss of Augusta was matron of
honor. Their sweeping dresses
were of taffeta in pastel shades,
appliqued with net motifs. They
carried arm bouquets of lavender-
pink crysanthemums * tied with
ribbons in deeper tones. They
wore pearl studded necklaces, their
gifts from the bride.
Rose petals were strewn in the
bride’s path by little Misses Jessie
Dale Price of Troy and Dianne
Beard of Bath. They wore floor
length dresses in light blue taf
feta.
Usher groomsmen were William
A. Mallerd, Charleston, and
Marion Watkins, McCormick, who
lighted the tapers; Bradwell
Beard, Bath; Lionel Bischoff, Fred
C. Stall and Norman Bremer, all
of Charleston.
The groom had for his best
man, his brother, Frank C. Bis
choff, of Charleston.
The bride entered with her
brother, W. A. Moss, of Augusta,
who gave her in marriage. Her
natural brunette beauty was ac
centuated by her wedding gown of
ivory taffeta, fashioned basque
waist, long pointed sleeves and
sweetheart neck line. Sheer ap
pliqued motifs of net graced the
long skirt which flowed into a
short train. Her finger-tip veil
of French illusion was caught in a
coronet of orange blossoms. She
carried an arm bouquet of bride’s
roses centered with an orchid.
Mrs. Bischoff is the daughter of
Mrs. Pamelia McCracken Moss and
the late J. D. Moss of Troy, and a
granddaughter of the Rev. W. A.
McCracken of Langley. She is a
graduate of the McCormick High
School and Winthrop College,
Rock Hill. For the past year she
has been a popular member of
the high school faculty at Spring-
field. Having taught also at
Langley-Bath and Charleston, her
gentle manner and pleasing per
sonality have endeared her to a
wide circle of friends.
The groom is the son of J. L.
and the late Mrs. Bischoff of
Charleston. He was graduated
from high school in Charleston
and studied at The Citadel. For
a number of years he has held a

Immediately following the cere
mony Mrs. Moss entertained with
a beautiful reception at her home
and about 200 out of town guests
and relatives attended. Block ice
cream and individual cakes were
served. A three tiered wedding
cake centered the dining table.
Late in the afternoon the couple
left for a motor trip through the
North Carolina mountains, after
which they will make their’ home
in Springfield until next June.

Troy.
On Thursday afternoon Mrs. W.

of Mrs. Godbold in, Troy.

dinner party for her on Saturday,
October 25, at her home in Troy.

informal tea at the home of her

gaities, Miss Moss gave a beautiful
luncheon at the McCormick Hotel
on Saturday for members of her
wedding party. Bowls of giant
