the grounds as guest of the fair
management, according to word
received from D. D. Witcover of
Darlington, president.
Each year thousands of children
go to Columbia to the fair, es-
peciallv on Friday, which is school
day. The state superintendent of
education, James H. Hope, has re
peatedly said that he feels this
day at the fair would be worth
more to the children than that
day in school.
