Sharp spent the week end and Army Day at Port Benning, with Lieut.-Colonel W. B. Sharp. Quite a large crowd, 100,- 000 or more, were present,.not in cluding the soldiers, and formed quite a large parade. Mrs. Sharp returned to Mt. Carmel Tuesday afternoon. Miss Julia Cade was a visitor in Anderson Monday. Miss Reba Wells of Anderson was a visitor here last week. Mr. j. F. Sutherland was a busi ness visitor here Thursday. Mrs. Roy Edmunds and Miss Elsie Edmunds of Laurens were guests of Mrs. Ida Black Sunday. Mrsi Black accompanied them home, returning to Mt. Carmel Monday afternoon. Dr. S. W. Reid of McCormick was visiting the sick and other friends here last Friday afternoon. Miss Susie Patterson returned home last Thursday from a visit to relatives in Lancaster and Huntersville, N. C.
