Seigler, 46, died at the Veteran's hospital in Colum bia at U o’clock last Thursday morning after a short illness. He suffered a stroke Tuesday night nrevlous and was rushed to the hospital earlv Wednesday but never regained consciousness. p. Seigler was the son of the . Walter S. Daughter of the late Thomas and Ann Gable Talbert, Mrs. McDonald had spent her en tire life in and near 'McCormick. She was a faithful member of the McCormick Beotist church. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Bethany Baptist church. Dr. S. W. Reid and the Rev. W. M. Owings conducted the services and burial followed in the churchyard cemetery. The deceased is survived by three sons. John C. McDonald of Jacksonville, Fla., Alfred A. Mc Donald and Rupert O. McDonald of McCormick: four daughters, Mrs. J. C. Barden of Augusta, Mrs. W. M. Coleman of Abbeville, Mrs. Maggie Mae Newby and Mrs. R. T. west of McCormick; one step daughter, Mrs. E. D. Knight of Walterboro; four step-sons, D. H. McDonald of Greenwood, W. K. McDonald and J. W. McDonald of McCormick and T. O. McDonald of Ninety Six; four brothers. B. P. Talbert, B. N. Talbert, and L. C. Talbert of McCormick and Les lie Talbert of Edgefield; two sis ters, Mrs. W. K. McDonald and Miss Minnie Talbert of McCor mick; a number of grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Resident Center in Mc Cormick which is under the capa ble supervision of Mrs. H. N. Cole man. The program was in the charge of Mrs. G. C. Camnbell; and Dr. G. Tuten, who served overseas with the A. Following the serving of de licious hot chocolate and sand wiches by the girls on duty at the prolect. the guests were shown over the center and the splendid work being done here pointed out. Miss Drucker And Fiance Honored On Saturday evening, December 7th, Miss Mary Sue Coleman enter tained with a lovely party honor ing Miss Rebecca Drucker and her fiance, David Robinson, of Au gusta. The home of the hostess’ par ents, Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Coleman, where this delightful affair was given, was brilliantly decorated with Christmas candles, poinsettias and evergreens. Six tables were arranged for the twelve couples who played hearts and bingo, with Mrs. W. P. Parks directing. Miss Drucker was given a crystal bowl and Miss Anna Furqueron, bride- elect, was remembered with a dainty gift. With Mrs. R. L. Faulkner, Mrs. J. E. Young, Mrs. J. S. Strom, Mrs. E. B. Brown. Mrs. G. The handsome lace covered table had a center arrangement of snarkling red Christmas candles and evergreen, showered with brilliant bells in .graduated sizes. Place cards were small poinsettias. Nine card tables were arranged also in similar decorations. With Mrs. C. H. Workman, Mrs. James Keown, Mrs. Jno. T. Mc Grath. Jr.. Misses Mildred Gunter and Matilda Bell assisting, turkey with all its accompaniments was served in two courses. The honor guests were given beautiful nieces of crystal. With Mrs. C. H. Fooshe accom panying, Mrs. Lloyd Hendricks with her violin, furnished music during the luncheon hour., xxi :—. Party For Miss ' Furqueron And Miss Drucker On last Thursday afternoon Mrs. James M. Dorn and her mother, Mrs. C. H. Workman, were joint hostesses at a most delightful party honoring Misses Rebecca Drucker and Anna Furqueron, brides-elect of this month. Mrs. Dorn’s home was elaborate ly decorated with Christmas lights, evergreens and poinsettias. Eleven tables were arranged for bridge and rook. Misses Drucker and Furqueron' were given dainty flower containers. The hostesses served a salad course with sandwiches and candies adding the Christmas colors. T Lovely Party For Miss Furqueron On Friday afternoon Miss Ny- lena Strom entertained with a most delightful bridge party com- nlimenting Mi^s Anna Furqueron, | bride-elect of Dec. 19. Four tables were arranged in the living room where Yuletide decora tions were used in profusion end a miniature bride marked Miss Furqueron’s place. Miss Furque ron was given a piece of crystal. The hostess served a chicken salad course with sandwiches and dainty confections carrying out the red and green colors predomi nating in decorations, favors and tallies. She was assisted bv her mother, Mrs. W. M. Strom; Mrs. C. p Strom, Mrs. T. C. Faulkner and Mrs. R. L. Faulkner. Soil Conservation Technician To Be Here December 21 The farmers in McCormick County who are interested in co operating with the district super visors of the Savannah Valley Soil Conservation District in a soil conserving program are invited to come by the County Agent’s office Saturday morning, December 21st, and discuss the program with Mr. J. E. Young had charge of the program which dealt with the conditions and needs of China. The Bible study was conducted bv Mrs. W. J. Talbert. Mrs. G. C. Patterson, Mrs. W. S. Arrington and Mrs. F. A. Dean also took part. W. Keown. Assistant hostesses were Mrs. W. N. Smith. Mrs. J. K. White, Mrs. Troy West and Mrs. Marion Schumpert. Mrs. A. C. Barnhardt was in charge of the program for the afternoon. Mrs. Strom gave an interesting talk on investing our heritage in social evangelism, after which a business meeting was held with Mrs. Paul R. Brown presiding.
