Mrs. Nan Workman Britt was operated on for appendicitis early Tuesday morning at the Green wood Hospital and her many friends are glad to know that she is doing fine. Misses Mildred and Evelyn Gunter of Leesville are guests of their aunt, Mrs. Dennis Talbert, and Mr. Talbert. Miss Elizabeth Harris is spend ing several weeks at Woodstock, New Hampshire. Miss Mary Kennedy ig spending 'i few days here with her aunt, Mrs. Douglass Haggard, before leaving for New York where she will sail for India on August 3rd. Miss Kennedy has already spent sixteen years in India as a mis sionary from the A. R. P. church and has been here on furlough for the past three years. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Strom are now on a trip to California. Mr. Strom will represent the McCor mick Lions Club at the annual International Convention in Oak land. Mrs. J. C. Talbert and Mrs. T. J. Britt attended the funeral of their brother, Mr. Hugh Rambo, which was held in North Augusta Wednesday. Mrs. Grace Wilson of Virginia is here on a visit to Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Dukes and Miss Emily Wilson, her daughter. The following made 100 per cent in the Junior Department of the i Baptist Sunday School the past month: Mary Fooshe, Maurice White, Thaddeus Persons, Carl Henry Strom, Emily Wilson and Eleanor Horn.
