Conventoin in Columbia last week.
Miss Mary Elizabeth Giles has
returned from a visit of several
weeks with Mr. and Mrs. William
Giles in Augusta.
Mr. A. B. Andrews of Willingion
was a visitor here Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Dukes carried
their young son, Gecrge, back to
the Wesley Memorial Hospital at
Emory University, Georgia, Tuesday
of last week. Mrs. Dukes remained
there with George who will take
several weekly treatments.
Mr. J. L. Bracknell of Plum i
Branch was a visitor here Monday.
Misses Henrietta and Catherine
Brown of Greenville spent last week
end here with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. L. N. Brown.
The many friends cf Miss Ludie
New will be interested to learn that
she left for Asheville, North Caro
lina, last Friday, where she has ac
cepted a hospital position.

visitor here Tuesday.

Bordeaux, S. C., announce the mar
riage of their daughter, Helen
Hodges, to Mr. Paul Singleton Willis
of McCormick, S. C., the ceremony
having been performed Saturday
evening, November thirteenth, j
nineteen hundred thirty-seven, by
the Rev. E. F. Gettys at his home
at De la Howe in the presence of a
lew relatives and close friends.
The happy couple is now at home
with the groom’s father near Mc
Cormick, S. C.

Of interest to a large group of
friends is the announcement of the
marriage of Mrs. Selic Holcomb
Deason and Mr. Grover C. Sanders
which was quietly solemnized Wed
nesday morning, Nov. 17th, at 10
o’clock in Greenwood, S. C. The
ceremony was performed by the
Rev. G. Satcher. pastor of the Pen
tecostal Holiness Church of Abbe
ville and former pastor of the bride.
Only a few relatives and close
friends were ai the Rev. Satcher’j;
home to witness the rites.
The bnde, a native of McCor
mick. was unusually attractive in
a rust colored coat suit of knobby
wool and black accessories. She
wore a shoulder corsage of rosebuds
and lilies of the valley.
The groom is a well known busi
ness man of McCormick, having
moved here from Plum Branch
about four years ago.
After a short wedding trip to
Charlotte, N. C., and other points,
they will be at home here on East
