Reese of Augusta, Ga., is spending a few days as guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Crawford. Mrs. Thomas Reeder of Atlanta, Ga., spent the week end here with her mother, Mrs. J. J. Dorn. Her unanimous election as Pres ident of the Congress was a fitting tribute to her long career in fra- ternalism, according to Mrs. Jeanie Willard of Denison, Tex., who nom inated her for the office. In 1911 Mrs. Talley was elected National Secretary of the Wood men Circle and moved to Omaha where the headquarters of the So ciety is located. She continued in this office until three years ago when the office of National Presi dent became vacant on account of the death of the then National President, the late Mrs. Mary E. La- Rocca, at which time she was unanimously chosen president. In her three years at the head of the Society, Mrs. Talley has gained national recognition for her fraternal activities and for the growth of the assets and member ship of the Woodmen Circle. She was the dominant motivating fac-\ tor in the establishment of the Woodmen Circle Home for Aged Members and Orphan Children in Sherman, Tex., and is at the head of the Society’s field work and fi nance committees.
