B. E. Geer, President of Furman
University, of the acceptance i>y J.
J. Lawton of Hartsville as General
Chairman, and C. O. Milford of
Greenville as Associate Chairman
of the Executive Committee having
charge of the $300,000 coordination
campaign.
Mr. Lawton is President of the
Furman Board of Trustees, a posi
tion he has held for twenty years,
having been a member of the
Board for forty-eight years. He is
a Furman man, class of 1881; mem
ber of the First Baptist Church at
Hartsville and Chairman of the
Board of Deacons. He is a manu
facturer, being President of the
Hartsville Oil Company, the Green
ville Oil Company and affiliated
companies. Mr. Lawton brings his
