A show of hands reveal ed quite a large number were for mer members. Several former pas tors wrote expressing regrets that they could not come. The Rev. George Sexton was the only one who did come. The opening songs were impres sive, being chosen with care for that occasion. A splendid chorus was rendered by the choir. After announcements and the offering an impressive duet was sung, by Miss Louise Bracknell and Miss Bertie James, one of the teachers teaching in the school at Plum Branch. The pastor read the 12th chapter of Romans and Rev. Mr. Sexton brought the message that it seem ed all were willing to say the . Lord sent to vs through him. This writer has* heard nothing better from that pulpit since living in this commu nity. It was heart-searching, in spiring and convincing. At the noon hour a sumptuous meal was served on a specially pre pared table at the church which revealed that the good people, of Plum Branch knew just Mow to pre pare a meal to suit all appetites and the bountiful dinner was a proof of this generous spirit that we hear has always been character istic, of the .good people of the church and community. After dinner and a short social hour that all enjoyed another ser vice was held. After devotional led by the pastor, the history of the church was read by Miss Annie Lou Lankford, which was full of interest to all, after which a few older ones, not all Baptists, spoke a few words about the church and former pastors as they remember ed. A chorus was very impressively rendered by the choir and, Mr. Charlie Wilkie, a former member, and some of his children and other relatives sang two very impressive specials, which were followed by a talk by Mr. Burnett from the Ridge Association, which was very timely. Mrs. Orr gave a very impressive Chalk Talk while Miss Louise Bracknell sang ' slowly and em- phasizingly the song, “The Church in the Wild Wood.” Both the pic ture drawn and the song seemed to delight everybody. A voluntary offering in cash was made to' go on building fund of more than $1^.00 and a note was given by a former member stating a liberal sum to be turned in later. Everybody felt they had spent a profitable day in real worship and in friendship. The closing song was “God Be With You.” A Member. txt . .
