Miss Alma Faulkner, student at Lander College, Greenwood, under went'an operation for appendicitis at the Greenwood Hospital Monday evening. She is getting along very nicely. 1X1 MRS. RAY C. MADDOX OF LINCOLNTON, GA., HONORED AT MISCELLANEOUS SHOWER The home of Mrs. J. C. Maddox was the scene of a gathering re cently, when Mrs. Maddox and Mrs. D. Wallace entertained with a 'miscellaneous shower in honor of a young bride, Mjrb. Ray C. Maddox. I The living room was bright and Jgay with white and yellow spring flowers and an assortment of pot plants artistically arranged. Mrs. D. Wallace met the guests at the door and invited them in the cheerful living room, where two contests engaged the attention of the group for awhile. A recipe book was passed and each guest wrote her favorite recipe for the bride who will soon begin house keeping. After a sweet course was served, Mrs. J. N. Martin tactfully blind folded the honoree and led her in to another room where a table was laden with useful and beautiful gilts. Mrs. Maddox thanked each one again and again for their thoughtfulness of her and the love ly spirit which prompted it. Those present were Mrs. W. W. Ulm, Mrs. Murry Deason, Mrs. J. B. Hogan, Mrs. J.
